Chapter 12

I gulped, staring at the massive palace that stood in front of our carpet. It was so tall, I couldn't even see the top of the castle, and we were still floating mid air. I extended my right arm and touched the cool looking black marble that had created the building.

Immediately I jerked my hand back, steam curling like wisps where my flesh had touched the building. I gasped at shock at my pink flesh on my hands, then at the marble that had looked so cold.

"Ariel, do refrain from touching anything else." Aurora spoke in a rather worried voice. All of a sudden, my hands were being rubbed by Aladdin's. "You okay little fish?" He asked worriedly, stroking my index finger.

I was surprised at his actions but I didn't say anything. He let go of my hands after a couple seconds and then continued to fly.

The second thing I noticed beside the hot building was the essence the building was giving off. I felt hit by sorrow and grief and hopelessness.

It was like a little worm had been planted in my brain, and that worm was now spreading bad feelings throughout my mind. No wonder those nasty villains kept the other princesses here.

I tilted my head up, and I could just barely make out the sharp craggily point that signified the tip. It was surrounded by crows and green clumps.

We were descending when I realized that Malificent hadn't sent anything or anyone to apprehend us. That couldn't have been good.

She and her partners in crime were probably waiting for us, keys to the princesses prison in hand, laughing. Only then did I realize Aurora, who looked so very angry.

Of all emotions, anger! Not fear nor sadness, but a fiery look of pure destructive anger. She really was in love with Phillip...

Aladdin landed the carpet on the dead grass, and tentatively we stepped off. The sickly yellowish blackish grass crunched under our feet and right in front of us lay the bridge that led to Malificents door.

Like the rest of everything around here, the bridge was plain black, and it curved up and then back down, leading to the palace.

Underneath the gloomy bridge was a green lake. At least it looked something like a lake... The green came off the surface in wisps, and every so often a bubble would float up to the surface and pop, spewing gunk all over.

Aurora stormed ahead of us, even ahead of Aladdin who stared at her in surprise. "That witch is gonna get it!" She shrieked, stomping her foot like a three year old.

"Calm down now." Aladdin said lightly touching her shoulder. She whipped around, and her eyes had this fire in them. When she realized we were just trying to comfort her, the fire died and she just looked tired.

"I'm so sorry. My Phillip is probably in there and well-" she choked back tears for a second, then looking at us with shiny eyes, she pivoted back around and continued marching.

From the back I saw her wiping her eyes and Aladdin just looked at me and shrugged. "Hormones." He mounted pointing to Aurora, and lightly smacked hum, putting my other hand over my lips to refrain from chuckling.

With Aurora leading the group, we walked over the bridge, careful to avoid the edges. "So romantic." Aladdin sighed, eying the green waste below us.

"Oh isn't it?" I batted my eyelashes prettily, just like Sebastian had showed me. He and I laughed together, when Aurora stopped abruptly.

"This is not a laughing matter." She said stonily, her fists clenched. It was amazing how tightly she could hold her hands, they were getting redder by the second.

"We're just trying to make matters more light." I offered, hoping not to push any buttons of hers. Since when did she become so uptight?

"You guys are facing your biggest enemies," she threw her hands up, exasperated and still not facing us. "How can you even joke?" She pretty much yelled, and then with that she stomped forward.

Aladdin was beet red as he tried to hold in laughter as he saw the little fit Aurora threw, but I kept my giggles to myself. She wasn't happy, obviously.

Aurora walked towards gates to the castle, and stood at the door, which was black and mighty. It was fifteen feet tall, and it towered over us. Even from all the way here, I could see the elaborate designs on the door.

She promptly knocked on the door, and we finally snapped back to reality as we heard the heavy rhythmic thumping of Aurora'a knuckles against the wood.

We ran all the way to Aurora, and stood by her side as the door slowly creaked open. "Hello?" A very familiar voice spoke timidly.

All I could see through the crack were these brilliant blue eyes. Eyes that belonged to Cinderella. Her blonde hair fell into her eyes a little, but other than that nothing showed.

"It's me Cindy." Aurora said softly, nicer than she had been only a minute before. "Aurora!" She half whispered half screamed. She opened the doors and I nearly gasped at what I saw.

It was Cinderella all right, but she was in brown rags that went only to her knees. Her blonde hair was in a hastily done bun, and her bangs were falling out.

Her brilliant eyes sparkled when she saw us though., and she wrapped her arms around me and Aurora, nodding at Aladdin. I looked around and saw the other princesses doing regular house hold chores. They wouldn't even raise their eyes to acknowledge us.

Belle, who usually was bursting with spunk and intelligence was now just dusting a weed vase (oh the decor in a villains castle... So... Interesting?) mindlessly, and the other princesses were too caught up in their work to help.

I saw Aladdin's eyes search the room frantically, he was, no doubt looking for Jasmine. A pang of jealousy stabbed my heart, but I brushed it away quickly.

The castles negative aura was seeping into me, and I could NOT let anything corrupt my mind.

"Quick before the big ones notice!" Cinderella led us to a hallway. She took us into a room before talking in a hushed voice. "I know why you came." She said, looking at us.

"Good. Where's Phillip dear?" Aurora asked getting to the point. Cinderella cocked her head to one side and stared at Aurora, puzzled. "Oh I'm not sure.." She answered.

Aurora snapped her fingers and stared at the floor, but Aladdin cleared his throat. "Where are the Big Three?" He asked a little hoarsely.

Her eyes widened slightly and she whispered very lowly. "Check in the upper rooms." Was all she managed.

"Wait why weren't the princesses noticing us?" Aladdin asked. He looked much more somber than he had before, obviously worried about Jasmine. Has he ever worried about me? No stop it Ariel. Of course not.

"Well Ursula is a very powerful witch..." Cinderella started, and then she looked directly at me. "She cast a curse on them, didn't she?" Cinderella nodded as I spoke. "But why didn't-" I was about to ask, but she finished for me.

"Why didn't it work on me? I don't know." She shrugged before a loud thunk was heard. Her eyes widened, and a delicate hand flew up to her mouth.

"Hurry!" She whispered, and together we ran out of the room, Aladdin grabbing a dazed Aurora's hand.

She ran us to a long winding staircase, that was, you guessed it, black as night. "You guys can figure out the rest." She smiled a little before scampering off, grabbing a broomstick on her way out.

"Here we go." Aladdin said and all three of us took the staircase that led to our rivals.

Aladdin and Ariel or Aladdin and Jasmine? Comment below :) Personally, I ship Alariel (Aladdin plus Ariel) but what about you? Leave me some love maybe? And the pic of the day is Malificents black castle! (with green accents)
