Chapter 15

The Past: Cheaters

Gio walked me to my classroom. He was holding my hand the whole time and I was not able to pull it away from him.

"Hey," he softly said as we stopped by the door of the classroom. "Anong problema, Blaire? You are quiet mula pa kanina."

I narrowed my eyes and I clenched my jaw dahil sa inis. Luke saw us and that is my problem. What happened earlier could jeopardize my plan. I've already invested a lot time and effort at hindi pwedeng masayang 'yon.

I wanted to blame Gio. He should have not put his arm around my shoulder but I know better. What happened earlier was a lapse on my part. Hindi pumasok na isip ko na may tsansa na pwede kaming magkita sa parking lot. D*mn, I just saw him there yesterday. Now, I have to change the moves the I cooked up last night.

I exhaled harshly. "I'm fine, Gio. I think a just woke up in the wrong side of the bed."

He chuckled. "I might have a solution to your foul mood."

"What?" I nonchalantly ask.

Inch by inch, he started to lean forward. I instantly identify what he was planning to do- he will kiss me.

Sa loob ng lampas na isang taon na relasyon namin, Gio and I kissed countless of times. It's a natural thing to do but as his face was moving closer to mine, I felt that it was not right to kiss him. Bigla kong naisip si Luke. Bago pa tuluyan lumapat ang labi sa labi ko ay napaiwas ako so that his lips landed on my right cheek.

He move away immediately. Magkasalubong na ngayon ang kilay niya. I know that he did not appreciate what I just did so before he could say a word a inunahan ko na siya.

"Look, I'll go inside na. My prof will arrive any second from now."

He sighed. "Fine. What time shall I pick you up later?"

"I don't know. I'll just text you."

I gave him a quick kiss on the cheek before I turned and went inside our classroom. I saw Celine gazing at me with a long face while Laura was giving me a dubious look. Sigurado ako na nakita nila na hinatid ako ni Gio. Pareho silang nakaupo at sa pagitan nila ay ang isang bakanteng upuan that was reserved for me.

Lumapit ako sa kanila and I sat down on the vacant chair.

"Hi," I greeted them.

"Hi," they greeted me both back but not in a so enthusiasthic way.

Our professor arrived so we didn't have the opportunity to talk. The class discussion started but my mind was somewhere else. Hindi ko maalis sa isip ko si Luke kaya wala akong nakuha sa mga sinabi ng prof ko.

Ganoon din ang nangyari sa mga sumunod naming klase. During lunch time, napagtanto Laura and Celine were unusually quiet, too. But their exchanges glimpse did not go unnoticed even if I was preoccupied

"Hey, you two, what's up? Why are you acting so wierd mula kanina?" Hindi nakatiis na tanong ko.

It seemed like I startled Celine with my question because she dropped her fork on the plate. She looked at me and smiled. "W-what are you talking about, Blaire?" She asked with a wavering voice.

Now, sigurado na ako that something was really off. Binitawan ko ang kubyertos ko at sumandal ako sa upuan. My eyes slowly narrowed into a thin slit. Tinignan ko si Celine and then I looked at Laura.

"Do you think na hindi ko napansin na kanina pa kayo tahimik at nagpapalitan nang tingin? What gives? "

A long moment of silenced passed. Laura kept her mouth shut but her eyes never left my face. Celine, on the otherhand was looking anywhere but me.
