Chapter 22

The Past: Blue vs Green

Two weeks had gone by but Luke and I were still together. I was still enjoying myself kaya hindi pa pumapasok sa isip ko na hiwalayan siya. My relationship with him was totally different from the previous relationships I had. 

He was not the sweetest. He was not the type of boyfriend that would give you flowers and chocolates and stuffs to please you. Hindi pa niya ako binigyan ng kahit ano aside from paying for our meals kapag magkasama kaming kumakain.

He doesn't  do compliments. Kahit pa anong ganda ng suot ko o ayos ko, never pa niyang sinabi na wow, you look wonderful. But the lopsided grin and the slight twinkle in his eyes whenever he sees me was enough to let me know that my efforts to look beautiful were much appreciated.

He doesn't cheesy talk, too. No pick up lines, whatsoever. Madalas, kapag magkasama kami, he's being his normal self. Deadpan and  cold. Saka lang nagkakasigla ang boses niya kapag napapangiti at napapatawa ko siya. And I was successful in doing that, lately.

If there's a thing or two that's making me sure that he's really into me ay iyon ay kapag hinahalikan niya ako. And we kiss a lot—when no one's looking or whenever we're inside his car. He would kiss me when we're stuck in traffic or whenever we have to stop on traffic lights.

Maliban doon, kapag naglalakad kami o magkatabi lang at hindi naghahalikan, lagi niyang hawak ng mahigpit ang kamay ko. Minsan ay dinadala pa niya ang kamay ko sa labi niya para halikan. At gustong-gusto ko iyon.

So yeah, I could say that Luke and I were coasting on calm waters at ibang-iba iyon sa naging relasyon ko kay Laura at kay Gio sa nakaraang dalawang linggo.

Not that I care much about Laura. Hinahayaan ko lang siya. Matapos kasi niyang malaman na kami na ni Luke, naging malayo na siya sa akin. Palagi pa rin namin siyang kasama ni Celine pero hindi niya ako masyadong kinakausap. Habang ako naman, kakausapin lang siya kapag may kailangan ako sa kanya.

Celine  on the otherhand was never a problem. She was being nuetral. Hindi siya pumapanig kahit kanino sa amin ni Laura and that's fine with me. I already told her about my relationship with Luke. I realized na kailangan ko sila ni Laura lalo na kapag gumagawa ako ng excuses kay Gio.

And speaking of Gio, I knew that he's already fed up with my excuses whenever I couldn't make it to lunch or dinner or when I couldn't hangout with him during the weekends. I would tell him that I was with Laura and Celine. Sometimes, I would tell him that I was with dad or I'm working on a project. Sa loob ng dalawang linggo ay dalawang beses pa lang yata kaming nagkita.

And today's gonna be the third time. Tumawag siya sa akin kanina at sinabi niya na dapat akong manuod ng friendly basketball game ng College of Architecture (Gio was taking up Architecture. They're family own the biggest architecture firm in the country) laban sa Collage of Business and Management.

I said yes because I failed to come up with another excuse. It was Friday and the friendly basketball game was scheduled right after my class. Kaya heto ako ngayon at papunta sa university gymnasium. I was with Celine and Laura, of course.

Nang makarating kami sa loob ng gymnasuim, I was surprised that it was almost jam-packed. Maraming mga estuduyante ang narito at ang iba ay may dala pang mga banners.

"Uh, may mauupuan pa ba tayo?" Celine asked.

Inikot ko ang mga mata ko. There were still vacant seats pero nasa pinakadulo. Wala namang kaso sa akin iyon. I'm not here to watch the game, as long as makita at malaman lang ni Gio na pumunta ako ay okay lang.
