Brandon :
I was sittin' up in Tony crib trying to gather my thoughts. My mama had really pissed me off and there is no telling what happened to her that night. It hurt my heart to know that she was out doing all that shit because she was a I had left. I didn't have my father anymore, nor did I have any other family because they all bailed on us a long time ago. All I had was her, she was my queen and for her to be out doing these things, left me disgusted. Every nigga that knows me knows that I play about a lot of shit, but never when it comes to my mom. She was my heart and nobody was to fuck with her.
"You good B, you hungry or somethin'?", Tony asked. I just shook my head no and thought back on all the things my dad had taught me. If he were still here, my mother wouldn't be doing the things so does.
I watched as my dad placed his 9 millimeter on his hip and a clip on bands in his pocket. He wore a blood red Gucci belt this a gold gucci 'G' buckle on the front of the belt with his black True Religion jeans. He had on an all black shirt and the Infrared Jordan 6's. He towered over me with his 6'5 frame were as at my age of 12, I was only 5'8. He sprayed himself down with Adidas cologne and used his hands to wipe over his curly hair. I watched my dad go through this process every day in hopes that one day, I could be just like him. He slapped his three gold chains around his neck and sat down on his bed. He pat the spot next to him, motioning me to take a seat.
"Dad, why do you wear those same three gold chains everywhere you go.", I asked while looking at the differences between those chains.
"These chains are what show my identity. Everybody knows who I am because of these three gold chains.", He picked up one that had the letter B.J. on the gold bezel and showed it to me.
"This one was given to me by your grandfather, and one day, it will be yours. Only difference is, you won't get your dignity from the streets. I don't ever want you on these streets, you hear me?", He asked with a stern tone.
I nodded my head and he pulled me into a hug.
The day I learned that the streets weren't an option for me. Every time my dad gave me bands from that day forward, I never spent them, which is how I afford the shit that I do right now. I don't have to get a job as a teen, which is why I don't understand why my mom did the shit that she did.
I got up from Tony's couch and dapped him up before hoping in my Challenger and leaving. I drove for the next ten minutes, conjuring up an apology to give my mom for the things that I said. I loved her, regardless of what she did, but any nigga would have reacted how I did. Shit, it's my mama. I pulled up to our townhouse and walked inside. I knew she had to he home because it was 3 A.M. on a Thursday morning and she works afternoons. I proceeded up the stairs and headed to her room. This time, I knocked, but got no response. After knocking a few more times, I just walked in because no one answered the door. I walked in to see her sleeping which gave me a sign of relief as I sent a thanks to the big man above considering that it didn't seem like the man did anything to her. I walked over to the edge of her bed and kissed her forehead. Just as I was about to walk out I heard her speak.
"I see you finally decided to come home, come sit down baby.", she said. I walked over to the bed and kicked my shoes off before sitting next to her on the bed.
"Mama, I'm sorry for the things I said, but I can't be sorry for what I did. He deserved it and you-", she cut me off before I could finish my apology and explanation.
"You have no reason to apologize baby. I was wrong for stooping so low and no young boy should have to experience his mother doing something like that, but I can't continue to hide things from you, so I have some things to tell you baby.", she said before looking down. I hope what she was saying wasn't something bad.
