Sam

Johnson wanted to throw this big party for Jack since he has been home now and rested.

I don't understand how this party is even got to help, considering the fact Jack will barely remember anyone there.

Emily was following Jack around like a lost puppy, everyone thinks Emily is so great and Emily is the best thing for Jack and all that other garbage.

But I hate her.

If I reminded him of all the things she has done he would hate her too.

But Jack seems to be doing fine with her so I don't think I'm going to say anything unless it's needed.

I opened up our fridge as I pushed past party guests and grabbed a water.

I didn't want to drink tonight because I see no point, this party isn't even celebrating anything.

I feel like we are only having this party is to forget the fact Jack nearly died almost 7 days ago. But you can't forget it, well, at least I can't.

Johnson is acting like Jack is only 8 years old, Jack still asks me so many questions that don't even make sense.

It's like he's an old friend who was gone for a year but came back, he doesn't remember half the things we did.

I sighed and walked outside where almost no one at this stupid thing was.

It was hot, loud, and smelled like alcohol in sweat in there. I couldn't take it.

I sat in our porch swing on the patio and just stared, thinking.

The sliding glass door opened, and I saw Camila.

"Hey, Camz." I spoke, I haven't seen Camila in probably 5 days, I know for a fact something happened between her and Jack because she stopped coming to the hospital and avoided all of us.

"Hey." She spoke quietly, and smiled without showing her teeth.

She sat down next to me and I noticed she had a beer bottle in her hand.

"Since when do you drink?" I furrowed my eyebrows.

She just shrugged, and stared up at the stars

"How you holdin' up?" I asked.

"Despite the fact one of the most important people in my life doesn't know who the fuck I am," Camila chuckled shaking her head. "It's fucking fantastic, Sammy." She took a sip of her beer.

"I'm sorry."

"Don't be." She shook her head, looking down at her bottle.

Silence lapsed, and the only noise was the crickets outside and muffled noises from inside.

"This all just feels like a dream, like it's not real. Out of all the people it had to be Jack to loose his memory. He doesn't deserve it." Camila looked up at the night sky again.

"I know."

"I wish it was me." Camila blurt.

"No you don't-"
