Matt was holding Layla Marie Lucas was born at 10:17 P.M. weighing 8 lbs and 9 oz. and Mackenzie Claire Lucas was born 10:23 P.M weighing 9 lbs and 5 oz. He gave Layla to me. "One year." I said.
"What?" he asked looking at me.
"One year if you still want to get married. We'll be a year older, they'll be a year old and we will have a year to work shit out." he nodded.
"One year."
Three months later, Matt was working with my dad, brothers, and Uncle Brad (Not actual Uncle, Lindsey's husband... just a reminder) on moving our stuff to the main house, next to the pack house. I was putting the babies' stuff away. Layla and Mackenzie were on the floor in the nursery watching as their daddy entered and exited the room. Matt and Liam brought in one of the cribs.
That night, Matt and I had a brief argument over something stupid, Matt walked in while I was washing dishes. He slid his arms around me. "I'm sorry for being such a jackass. I was only irritated because I just want some time with you. I love you and I hope you can forgive me for being such a jerk."
"You should be sorry." I said. He kissed me softly. "If you finish the dishes, we can have some alone time."
"Yes, ma'am. I will finish the dishes for you." I gave him the scrub brush and dried my hands.
I went into the living room and started putting the DVDs on the shelf. Matt came up behind me and I heard his zipper. "Doctor, I need you to examine something." he chased me into our room.

I knocked on the front door and heard running on the stairs. Matt opened the door his hair and clothes messed up. "Hi ma'am." he said.
"I brought over Alyssa's purse."
"Thank you." he said.
"No pregnancy before marriage. You two need to work stuff out and worry about the little ones."
"I know ma'am. Everything is fine."
"Where is my daughter anyway?"
"She's asleep." he said letting me in.
I straightened up a bit and left.

I woke up in the morning to Matthew getting up. "Where are you going?" I asked shrinking comfortably in his hoodie. I couldn't help it, I was cold.
"I have to go to work. If the boss doesn't show up occasionally then someone might suspect a kidnapping." he joked.
"I already kidnapped you. I can't make you stay?" I asked him sitting up.
"Sorry baby. I have to go." he gave me a kiss. "Go back to sleep. Mackenzie and Layla kept you up most of the night. I should be home in a couple of hours."
