---Mindy
Preston arrived at my house two months after the birthday bash. He was wearing a nice black button up, long sleeve shirt with dark blue jeans. I was in jeans and a sweater. "You said two months. Here I am."
"Here you are."
"The boys have a sitter?"
"Yeah. My mom and dad are here."
"Have fun you two." my mom said.
Days with Preston turned into months. It's been a total of 6 months since we started seeing each other and I was happy all over again. I still visited Trent's grave on his birthday and on some holidays and Preston didn't mind at all. He knew it was something I would always do.
TJ was guarding the water balloons with Hunter one August afternoon. It was my 30th birthday and Preston was throwing me a party. He was chasing me around the yard with handfuls of water balloons. My mom was watching me and the boys with Preston and she saw how happy we were again. Luca was watching out for Hunter and TJ. TJ was walking toward the edge of the yard. Preston caught me around the waist. "MOMMY LOOK!" Preston let go of me and followed me as I ran to TJ. I picked him up and fell backwards just as a wolf jumped at him. Preston stood in front of me.
"Get inside." he said. I took TJ inside with Hunter following.
Preston walked in about 20 minutes later. "DADDY!" TJ said surprising all of us. He ran to Preston and Preston picked him up.
"I'm not your daddy."
"Yes. Hunter say it was okay. Mommy happy too."
"Preston, he knows about his dad. You're the only one he has."
"Please?"
"Okay." he said. "Cool with you Hunter."
"I guess." Hunter said. "But I still have my dad."
"Of course little man." Preston said. "I'm not going to take his place."
"Good."
That night, I was sitting on the porch leaning against Preston's side. His fingertips lightly brushed my arm. My mom and dad were back to living at their own place. Preston was staying in the guesthouse on the property. "I should probably get going." he said.
"Why?" I asked looking at him.
"It's getting late." he said.
"You won't disappear just because you've been granted the father title will you?"
"No. I'm going to go take a cold shower and go to bed. I have work to do tomorrow."
"A cold shower?"
"Yes." he said.
"But I don't want you to go."
"I'll be here tomorrow." he said giving me a soft kiss. I made the kiss longer. He slid his hands into my hair.
"It's my birthday, don't I get to choose?" I asked.
"Are you trying to seduce me?" he asked.
"Why is it working?"
"Maybe." he returned to the kiss. I pulled away and stood up pulling him with me. He followed me inside and upstairs. I climbed into his lap when he sat on the bed. I returned to the kiss. My hands brushed over the stubble of his beard. His hands slid over my behind. He made sure that anytime we parted it wasn't for more than a few seconds. He grabbed something from his pocket and flipped me onto the bed. "Yes or no?" he asked. I nodded. "I need to hear you say it."
