Another small jump.

---Mindy

Hunter is now 5 years old and Trenton Jr. is 1.  Mindy's parents are currently staying with us in the big house.  Preston has been around quite a bit the past year.  I was out in the yard playing with Hunter and TJ when I heard a car pull up.  I looked and saw Preston.  "Hey. did I miss a party?"

"No, it hasn't even started yet."  I said.

"Awesome."  he grabbed a large box out of the back of his car.  "Should have brought the truck."  he said walking over setting the box down.  He went to grab another one.  He stood beside me.

"Can I ask a favor?"

"Yeah, sure."

"I was always working when...."

"Yeah."

"Can you help me change the oil in my truck?"

"Absolutely."

"Great.  I'll pay you."

"No, I will not take money."

"Please?"

"Just a home cooked meal."

"But..."

"Mindy..."

"Fine."  I said.  TJ was watching Hunter with our new puppy Luca,  Jack and Lucky passed shortly after Trent's death.

"Would it be wrong for me to ask you out?"  Preston asked.

"Um... I..."

"If you don't feel comfortable.  I understand.  Just figure I'd ask."

"Don't be mad.  I just..."

"Hey, I understand.  He'd want you to be happy too."

"I know.  Can we talk later?"

"Sure."

"Mama!"  TJ said reaching for me.  I picked him up.  He showed me the scrape on his palm.

"Uh oh."

"Uh oh."  he said.  Preston smiled at TJ's copying.

"Let's go see grandpa."

"Gapa."

"Pres, can you stay with Hunter for a minute?"

"Sure can."

"Thank you."  I said.

"No problem."  I took TJ inside.

"Gapa."  he said seeing my dad, he showed his scrape.

"Uh oh."  my dad said.

"Uh oh."  TJ replied.  He wiped his hand with a wet cloth and put a band aid over it.

"All better."

"Aw betta."  TJ said.  My mom gave a small laugh.  Hunter led the way as he and Preston came in.

"Do you want me to just leave the gifts in the yard?  Preston asked.

"Are they house worthy?"

"Definitely not."  he said with a chuckle.

"They'll be fine.  I bought one for Hunter as well.  Sort of a late present."

"Can I open it now?!"

"No, you wait until everyone else gets here just like your brother has to."

"But mom!"

"Hunter..."
