Bucky Barnes- Stop Them

"You're an idiot,"

You huff, shifting and wince when the bullet scrapes against your rib cage. "Well, you're not wrong about that."

"I can't believe you've done this,"

You're beginning to shiver as your toes and fingers loose their warmth. "It's what you wouldn't done, right?"

"This isn't-" his voice breaks. "You're not the one who's supposed to be.."

"Dying?"

"..yeah,"

His arms pull you closer and you rest your forehead against the crook of his neck. You can feel the rapid beat of his heart and hear his uneven breaths from being this close.

You want to cherish this moment with him just like any other except that, you know, the bullets in your body hurt and you can't really feel your arms and legs anymore.

"Hey, Bucky?" A coppery taste invades your mouth and you grimace. "You've gotta get out of here, or HYDRA will kill you-"

"I don't give a damn what HYDRA will do to me," He hisses between clenched teeth, laying you flat on the ground and rests his balled fists on his thighs. "They should be afraid of what I'm going to do to them,"

You smile, but that takes up energy so you stop and take his hand instead. "Then stop them, Bucky. Don't let them catch you now, though. You have to find Steve Rogers, okay? He'll know what to do,"

His eyes flash to yours. "How do you know that name?"

Heavy footsteps echo in the distance and you squeeze his fingers before letting them go. "Not important. You need to get out of here, now."

He nods tersely, leaning down to press a kiss to your forehead and whispers, "I love you," before getting to his feet and sprinting away.

When the HYDRA soldiers find you, you're out of breath, but a small smirking still curls your lips. "He's going to drive HYDRA into their grave.."

They look at each other in fear, gripping their guns harder before turning and running off. They don't bother killing you because they know you're already a dead women.

Bucky's eyes are dark and focused as he watches Steve Rogers cross the street and enter his apartment. He's about to go and talk to his so called "best friend", and from there, see where things take him.

But one thing he's certain of is that he's going to take down HYDRA. Cross off each of the soldiers, one by one, tear every flag, burn every building. He will never, never stop trying to destroy them because they ripped away the one thing he loved most in the world: you.
