XII. Getsugakure, 1273
Sakura remained silent as she took her scattered clothes over the grass where she left it, too embarrassed of the situation wherein the Uchiha had to save her life once more because of her stubborness. How many was it? Three to five times already? Of course, the Uchiha witnessing the mess of her clothings, even her under garments, was in fact embarrassing too.
But you can't blame her this time that she was saved, right? The pinkette pointed out. She was completely in the middle of thinking if she was to crawl out of the water while she loses her dignity or the potential of her to live and still keep her dignity while the raging river swept her away. Now, can you blame her? She thought stupidly as if the answer was obvious.
"Thank you fo-." Sakura handed over the cloak to the emotionless eyes of the Uchiha after she wore her clothes back in the bushes yet was immediately cutted off with the sight of another unknown man. The raven didn't seem to be nerved at all. Is he supposed to be safe?
"Hi," The blonde man cocked his head to the side, as if he was amused with the cherry blossom. "We were just talking about you, love."
"I know you're very very confused right now, I mean, to wake up on a completely different place." He emphasized word by word with a smirk lurking on his lips.
Sakura's jade orb eyes widen, how did he know? She thought desperately, looking for an answer.
"You see, I know a man who knows a lot more than that. A man of many prophecies to tell, including yours. I can take you to him, by any chance." There was a playful look on his face, and it was not the kind of play you had in mind.
The cherry blossom remained quiet, she knew better than to trust someone any longer, even a kid would kill her if she did, judging from the scenario earlier.
"You don't trust me, fine, but if I did lure you to a trap, I know your friend here wouldn't take a lot of time saving you. In addition, I don't think people would prefer going against him." The blonde man said with a gleam on his eyes towards the Uchiha, who didn't seem to care at all. "I am doing this in exchange of nothing special, it will cost no lives, I just want a touch and a simple glimpse of your power and abilities."
As much as the pinkette would want to punch this guy on the face with that particular power, she couldn't because she doesn't have one at all. Why is she repeatedly mistaken to be someone she's not? She thought bitterly as it was already getting on her nerves.
"What's your name?" Sakura asked out on a blue, with a careful glance at the raven, thinking he'll be mad if the cherry blossom did ask. But he didn't, so probably he didn't mind.
The Uchiha smirked beneath his mask, expectedly unexpecting that she'll have a stupid question to ask, but he decided to let it be. That particular question had never been common outdoors, it is not to be followed, revealing one's name can reveal thousands of secrets unluckily if it was given to the wrong person.
"Names are very powerful things to possess here in this place, love, yet I do believe I require much trust from you. I am to be called Deidara."
"Okay, Deidara, where can I find the man of prophecies?" Sakura asked bravely with the tone of her voice for she has no plans on being killed tonight as a coward, nor just being killed at all.
"He is just nearby, waiting for you. Just follow me. It won't take us a sunset." The blonde man smiled.
After Sakura had packed all her things and carried Snow over her arm, the three of them had walked throughout the forest floor, carefully taking steps. The Uchiha said nothing, yet he knew where they were headed. He was planning to travel by that place too, but he didn't knew where to find him. The three almost walked for almost half an hour, Sakura would've complained if it took them an hour, she thought a little impatiently.
"Ah, finally," An old man, by the age of almost inbetween 70's and 80's had suddenly spoke, startling the cherry blossom. She quickly glanced over the place, looking for the man he just heard the voice from. She was rather feeling nervous, because she felt this man knew many answers for questions she needed to ask.
"I am Sarutobi. Fear not young lady, for I meant no harm. I am a simple man with simple things to say." A crook smiled had trailed on the old man's face as he stood before the three, wearing a white cloak covering his body and a simple straw hat to cover his face from the sunshine rays.
The three spoke nothing and remained silent. Sakura had her ears for all the words this man would give. She didn't know why, but she felt that he was someone who wouldn't lie.
The Uchiha, on the other hand, looked at Sarutobi with blank eyes, revealing nothing or any motives he had in mind. Yet he completely knew this man. Indeed, he is no fake. He was, in fact, someone who could tell the strange customs of this cherry blossom he held captive.
"I know you two," He pointed out to Deidara and the Uchiha, "had heard of this legend, but for this young lady, she had not, and I am more than willing to tell it again, for her alone, must be the one who should give understanding of it the most." The cherry blossom swallowed her less filled mouth, feeling that this was not a good story from the beginning until the end.
"Getsugakure 1273," Sarutobi started with the smile fading off of his face. "A prophecy had been seen that a clan would be wiped out, from the youngest to the eldest, from the weakest to the strongest. It merely happened a few days after."
"There was this clan, a no ordinary clan, for their ability contains great power and they were not willing to share it, for a good reason. They were a clan who exiled themselves, refused to be used and taken for granted. They could not be put onto slavery for they rather be killed or commit suicide than use their power against their will."
Sakura, unable to restrain herself from pending questions she had in mind, had interrupted at the moment of the long pause of his story.
"What kind of ability?" She bit her lip.
"The power of great restoration, in simple words." Sarutobi smiled at the curious pinkette. "At times of war, this clan was to be hunted and to be put on use, yet many had tried and many had failed. Many shinobis fought for war, and with desperation of winning, they believe that this clan can bring back the energy, can heal, can bring back the time where your body was in its greatest condition in mere seconds. They were not simply medics, they were more than that, gaining almost the full power of restoration."
"A known clan came, who wants to put them in use too, was refused like the other ones. Their Kage, had planned to massacre them instead. Believing that if they were not to be used by them, no one could ever use them. In fear that his enemies could persuade this ancient clan and win the lands, that's when he came to that decision."
Swarming with wonders and questions had filled out of the cherry blossom's bursting mind. She still didn't get it.
What's in it for her if this clan had been wiped out by a different one? What's in it for her if they did have magical powers or whatever?
"I don't get it, what does it have to do with me? Why is it imporant for me to know this legend?" Sakura interrupted with confusion, unable to take anymore in as he stared at the old man and glancing at the raven and the blonde as if this was such a silly story and she wanted to know if they thought of the same thing.
"Someone survived." Sarutobi continued.
