IX. Rumors in town

Sakura believed a practical life would suit her, not a luxurious kind of lifestyle for she wasn't rich anyway. She was definitely fine with doing what she always did, doing chores and working her ass off to earn money and buy something to eat, practically.

But not to the extent where she even had to do the hunting or butchering animals for dinner.

Sakura noticed a few men catching helpless little wild rabbits, with plans of shouting and stopping them, she was stopped midway by the Uchiha who expected her to have a soft heart for cute and fluffy things beforehand. Women, he grunted in his thoughts.

"What?" She growled and threw a glare to the man who stopped her from saving a weak animal.
"Don't mess with someone else's prey, or you'll be one." The Uchiha warned, which made Sakura squirm a little bit, with realizations that he might be logical, considering this was a place full of new things she never knew about.

Pouting and tired of walking, "Where are we off to, now?" Sakura asked, sweating as she kept her sweater on. She didn't want to take it off for she only had a red spaghetti-strap blouse inside, afraid of molesters or sex slave hunters, she didn't want to get any more attention.

"A place I own, we will stay there for a few days while I do my business." He said bluntly.
"Y-your place? But-" Sakura stammered, not believing the crazy man before her, there she was, not knowing any idea about this part of the world and she was expected to chill out in his place?

"You are my prey, are you not? It is my right to keep you wherever I want. You are not to demand things to me nor refuse to anything. I use you for my advantage." The Uchiha grunted that made Sakura startle. She thought it was very wrong of her to think of him as a companion, and she was more than correct.

Yet, there was some things about the Uchiha that made him approachable and kind, yet he barely shows it.

Maybe he's bipolar, Sakura considered but that doesn't mean she's happy about him or his ways. She wanted to escape, though the sad truth about her weak being in a cruel world had knocked out sense in her.

The only thing she should prioritize now, is to get strong and smart enough to escape this man and this foreign place.

Hopefully it wouldn't take a year or Ino would think she's gone dead.

For almost half an hour had passed, Sakura and Uchiha took a sight of a village straight on their direction. He made no reaction at all, for this was a usual place he had been, and the place he would be staying.

Sakura was relieved for reaching a village unfamiliar with the black market composed of disrespectful and unhygienic men, for this time, this place was with people who looked the closest to normal ever since Sakura landed her foot on this place. (Well, landed on her back when she got swept off by the river.)

As Sakura and the man passed over the open gates, women, men or even children had avoided their gaze, but specifically to the Uchiha.

Maybe they knew who he was, Sakura wondered.

Slowly following the footsteps, Sakura was lead to a normal looking house located in the far corner of the village. It looked normal during an old generation, yet it wouldn't if it was Kyoto was to have this.

"This is only temporary, woman." He grunted as he twisted the wooden doorknob on the house and gestured inside.

Sakura coughed for some dust had welcomed her by her first step, and she didn't like it. She had the urge of cleaning each corner of this place at once.

"I am leaving and I don't want to drag your ass off anywhere, so stay here. Once you escape, I'll make sure I find you and immobilize your feet permanently." He threatened with a gleam in his eyes as he strolled off right away, leaving Sakura with her raging emotions.

"That asshole." She whispered as she placed her backpack on the nearby table and started looking for a broom. The place wasn't much of a mess, it had neat wooden furnitures that look unscraped, and not all were entirely covered with thick dust, as if it was cleaned a week before today.

Nevertheless, Sakura had the habit of cleaning and dusting her place the day after each day, and this was already a hell if it was her place.

After several swiping, dusting and a dash of sweat droplets, Sakura sat on the wooden chair and petted Snow who lied on the table.

"Wow, I'm completely cool with this," Sakura sighed to Snow, "I've been lost, kidnapped, almost was the dinner in a wolf's plate, and held hostage but I'm  too calm to even clean this place." She breathed.

Maybe because she knew there was no one looking out for her in Kyoto. She no longer had a family who would die looking for her and waiting for her return. She had a life on her own. It was always on her own and that fact alone made her sad and weary each day.

Yet there was some reasons why she wants to be back, she had a life at the hospital or will have. She had her friend Ino, and some things she missed to do like walking freely without being attack my man-eating wolves any minute of the day.

"He is back, isn't he?" Sakura bolted as a child's voice entered her ears, leading her to the direction towards the entrance where she found the boy who stood by the open doors.

"H-he? You mean Uchiha?" Sakura wondered, asking the child.
"Yes, that man. And who are you?" He asked with a monotonous voice, as if not interested if he'll be answered or not.

Sakura had hesitated of giving out her name, "A prey he had caught," she said firmly.
"He doesn't bring anyone here, what makes you so special?" The boy said arrogantly.

"Kurano what are you doing th-" A woman appeared by the door, gripping the arms of the boy and half way on dragging him away until she took sight of the woman inside.

"I saw her being taken by Uchiha inside, which he never does." He said, stating his only point, which was immediatelt shutted by the woman as she whispered, "we don't know anything about this man, shut up Kon-"

"No please, it's fine. I was taken here by the Uchiha, I am his prey, and - and I can't help but ask if you do know something about him. Is he - dangerous?" Sakura swallowed the dead air inside her mouth.

For a moment, the woman narrowed her eyes on the clueless lady by the killer's doorstep, as if thinking she was crazy, yet she opened her lips and said, "Yes, he is - very dangerous, as what the people say. It was once believed he killed and tortured hundreds of men for his desire, no one knows how, but he did, some believed he had a monster inside of him, waiting to be filled out and be strengthened by having blood in his hand and had once gotten out that sent hundreds of men into their graves."

Sakura had almost choked out on nothing but just mere words that escaped on the stranger's lips. She was indeed scared of the man who captivated her, but as long as she was somewhat of an unknown-worth, she was still safe, and will be.

"I - I need to escape.." The sweet voice of Sakura breathed suddenly.

"We do not want to take part of it. Please. That man will throw us with no mercy. Our- our parents had seen him kill before, he spared no one." The woman almost begged as if Sakura alone was enough of a reason to be killed. The cotton candy colored woman had felt bad for even trying.

But what she felt a lot more bad was that the man didn't look as if he haven't spared anyone's lives at all  costs, it was as if he wasn't the type to kill even the innocent.

That's what she believed.

Her life had been spared, hadn't it?

Or perhaps he only spared her life for his advantage that she fails to see?
