X. Stormy night

Sakura shrugged her shoulders and arms with her shivering hand as the skies of the evening started raging. It was starting to rain and she had no idea what to do at all, nothing like she had to do something anyway.

She wanted to sleep upstairs, the room by the left corner, but she didn't want to lose off guard when the Uchiha arrives. Afterall, he was still a man and everybody what that means when a man is left with one woman to spare.

Sakura immediately dismissed the unsightful thoughts with the Uchiha away given the scene before her. Instead, it was something a lot more worse than that, a man with no cloak but a proud and bare face that has nothing to hide stood by the door. He was inches taller than her and definitely stronger than she will ever be. He had silver hair and visible fangs hanging on his lips.

The pink lady made no sudden movements at all, she believe she knew better than that, not until the man took one step inside and suddenly Sakura was on the other side of the room with Snow by her arms.

"What do you w-want?" She stammered as her heart started beating rapidly with the sight of a man and with the fact that he was blocking the exit.

"I mean no harm." He said, taking another step. "I do believe my friend had to take you here, which is rare. Are you his sex slave?" He said rather bluntly that made Sakura a lot more angrier than scared.

"Excuse me? I am not a sex slave. Why does everyone keep labeling me as one? Do I look like one?" Sakura bursted, and bursted more when the silver haired man laid his eyes from her head to heels and started making facial expressions of saying 'yeah'.

"Stop it, Hozuki." A familiar and unexpectedly relieving voice had said. Sakura, for more than once, found it very relieving to hear it at times of danger. Even though the voice was danger itself, just a different path to take or a different kind of danger if you must say.

"She is not my sex slave." He said annoyingly, "If I would have one, I could've found someone better." He added that made Sakura boil up once more.

The thunder raged once more between the gray clouds blending with the dark blue shades of the night sky.

The Uchiha's hair dripped wet with every sound of droplet and somehow annoyed Sakura, or bothered most likely.

"You should change or you'll get a cold." She blushed, imagining how embarrassing she must have sound, but she shouldn't, because it was a nurses' or doctor's job to inform what to do or not to do when it comes to a person's health. She would've looked crazy if she blushed for every time she had to advice someone to take care of themselves.

The Uchiha ignored her nevertheless, but he heard it alright. He just didn't want to listen.

He was thinking of what to do with her now that he heard from Tobi what possibly her abilities could be, it could be ancient. Far more valuable than an army of slayers with different abilities to possess.

And this was what most of them had feared to happen.

Their return.

The stormy evening had come to an end finally, Sakura lay awake by the matress-less bed at the midnight while the Uchiha stood and leaned his back by the door with his eyes closed.

Sakura thought it would never hurt to be too careful. Though he constantly offends her by being the least woman to be a sex slave, she was still a woman. It was very weird for Sakura to watch the Uchiha lean by the door with not a single movement. Is he supposed to be asleep? Sakura asked herself.

But perhaps she was right, because this place just couldn't get any weirder.

The pink haired woman finally had the courage to close her eyes and doze off, but how could she when the last moment she had seen and heard was the sound of a blade rushing through the wind directed to the Uchiha.

But it was a lot more shocking to see him catching it without any glimpse.

The woman bolted on her wooden bed and took her backpack and carried the growling Snow who seemed to be looking outside the window. She stood by the edge of the room looking everywhere for the signs of threats, she didn't want to be killed tonight, or she didn't want to be killed at all.

"Nice catch," an unknown voice of a man said that made each Sakura's heartbeat a little faster than before and made each hair on her back stand.

"We meet again." The Uchiha said suddenly.
"The last time I saw you, I told you I'll be catching a far better prey than you are the next time I see you." The man said confidently and rather enthusiasticly.

"It is a little too bad that you caught the better prey I was talking about." He said and finally came out of the midst with a smug look on his face and his arms crossed. He was almost as tall as the Uchiha, with burning auburn hair and a dull pair of brownish golden eyes as it reflected when I caught it with mine.

"It's not my nature to steal, I'd rather catch her when she's out of your grasp."

And by that moment, he disappeared right away, giving the strange woman a one more piercing look as if intaking each and every detail of her appearance.

Great, more enemies, Sakura thought stupidly as her heart beated fast, even making jokes at literally life and death situations. She shook her head in disapproval as she sat carelessly back on the wooden bed.

She never had an enemy at Kyoto, and now the poor little lady thinks bitterly that she was being hated by just her mere existence. What ever did she do wrong?

"Am I going to be killed by him?" She asked nervously to the man who never batted an eye. "Are you going to kill me?" She added as she feared the answer he'll say.

The Uchiha was never a great talker, he encountered people who spoke a lot but never minded it, he never minded the non sense of those chattering people, yet anyone but this woman, annoyed him with each and every question she had in her mind, who spoke her thoughts outloud, giving away too many weak spots and making her easy to kill.

The night slipped off and the breaking of the dawn had come, neither of the cotton candy lady nor the black crow gent had slept away their thoughts.

Neither of them had spoken a word too, and the Uchiha grown to like it, but Sakura felt bitter and dry, thinking what she would be doing now that she had passed the exam, she would've been applying for a position.

Rather than that, she felt physically irritated for not having a hygienic routine for more than 24 hours. Her clothes are a complete mess, with the stuck pieces of grass and leaves on the sweater's wool, soil tracks, some mud stains and drips of sweat combined.

Especially her pink thick hair that had tangled with each other 'cause of too much humid and wind. Thus, not setting a good example of an influential nurse to be followed upon.

She wasn't stupid enough to think they had a bathroom here at all, much more ask. Yet the streams of the river she heard was the sound of hope.

Sakura unpacked her things on top of the wooden bed, or a wooden table in this case, and sighed with relief as she saw her grocery items of a few canned goods, some light chips and food and a mini personal hygience kit together with her first aid kit.

Thank Gods I went to the grocery before I fell by the river, Sakura thought stupidly but thankfully.
