XXXVI. Friend or Foe?
Will I die tonight?
Was going back here a mistake?
Is loving him a mistake?
Did he even feel the same way?
Sakura tried her best to drift her mind off of the raven. She's in between life and death situation here and she's still thinking about him for pete's sake!
Was it true though? What the blue haired woman said? If she didn't comply to their commands, she will be beaten up, tortured and raped. She would gladly choose death over those. But.... she is marked. Sakura wondered idly if she was to die, would he die too? Of course, that's the power of the mark, isn't it? Dying was no longer an option for her if that was the case.
The woman, Konan, returned after a couple of hours with a cup of water and some kind of wheat crackers. She carefully placed it on the table beside a medical machine of somewhat and pulled a chair. She never sat on it though, instead, she walked towards the tied pinkette and gently untied her, all this, Sakura was conscious and had been following her movements in the room.
"You can move around the room, don't be scared." Konan said, after a curious look from Sakura.
"Come, eat." Konan pulled another spare chair towards the table and sat on it, waiting for Sakura to accept her invite. Although Sakura was nervous and curious, which wasn't really a good combination, stood up from the chair and walked towards the table while rubbing her previously tied wrists. She sat on the chair and Konan was with her. Looking at her intently. Konan knew immediately, "It's not poisoned." She grinned, taking a piece of the cracker and sipping the drink with the same cup.
"Why are you doing this?" Sakura finally broke her silence.
"You need energy. You're skinny you know." Konan said. "And I completely think tying you was barbaric. A man's order, obviously."
"Why don't we get over this?" Sakura replied on a high irritated pitch, still not touching the cracker and water even though she was famished."Eat." Konan looked at her threateningly. The look on her made Sakura even more nervous but she did her best not to look like it. She complied though. She ate and drank. Her tummy finally being filled up. Oh how she would kill for a whole pizza right now.
"I gave you enough time to think." Konan said, "We need an answer soon, because we don't have the luxury to wait."Sakura cleared her throat, "I just want to clarify things. When you said - an army - what army and what are they fighting for?"
Konan smirked, interested even. "I'm sure you know we can't disclose so much."
"If I am going to keep them alive, may at least know the reason why?"
"It's for a war you shouldn't be concerned of. But if you're asking for more, then the least I could tell you is that they're planning to be the strongest clan there is.""They're? Not we?" Sakura asked Konan. Why wasn't she included? She caught her off guard.
"I have a different purpose. And I don't want to meddle on things like that."
"But you're participating.""It may look like that but I have a different thing in my mind." Konan was containing herself.
"Does it involve taking over the world too?" Sarcasm was evident on her voice. She was making her very angry, but something about her felt differently.
"You - healer - Sakura, right?" Konan smirked, "You have feelings for that Uchiha, don't you?"
"W-what are you talking about?" Sakura blushed despite her anger.
