XXV. Meeting

After Ino, Sakura's bestfriend, found out about the Uchiha who was currently residing at the pinkette's apartment, she couldn't miss the chance to evaluate the two.

She called Sakura the night after, and asked for company which was obviously turned down immediately. She'll let them off the hook... for now.

Sakura knew Ino so much and she anticipated that sooner or later, the blondie will figure out. Her bestfriend knew she was a bad liar, yet after the events in the apartment, it would be hard not to believe that the Uchiha was her boyfriend. Nevertheless, she knew that not long enough, her bestfriend was going to make her do something she cannot refuse to convince her more about their relationship.

"I need to settle this right away. I had been gone for some time." The pinkette was shuffling around the house, grabbing her necessities and packing it up on her backpack. After the accident in the other world, for sure, her favorite backpack couldn't survive in the raging river. It was least of her worries though, after all, Snow was inside, and she could only hope the furball could swim or had gotten out of the bag before it all happened.
"Why do I have to tag along?"
"There's no way I'm entrusting you with my apartme- look, I have to go to the hospital, my application is being considered and this is the first step towards my dream-"

"You just don't get it, do you?"
"What do you mean?" Sakura stopped.

"Dream you say.." The raven stared at a blank space, avoiding her gaze. "As long as you've got the mark on you, there will be a lot of complications before you could achieve what you want."

"I want to live my life normally, or at least pretend it is, if you don't mind. I will try my best to ignore your existence and your mark unless necessary." The pinkette slid her backpack behind her, ready for take off. "This is important to me." Sakura sighed, almost begging, and the Uchiha didn't miss that look on her face.

"I won't stay in this place but I refuse to tag along on your trips. Human interaction is the least I want to bare. I will be beside the river, investigating."

Sakura knew there was no convincing this guy. Another sigh and a look of worry flashed through her face at the stubborn Uchiha, she mumbled, "Just... be safe." and the raven was no longer found.

By then, the cherry blossom had thought or probably wished everything was just her imagination, or she was just hallucinating everything, yet every time she thinks of that, the mark on her nape only gets warmer and warmer, reminding her of the masked man who took her life in just one bite. Literally.

Life isn't going to be easy from now on.

"Sakura." Although he was shocked and worried, he was still charming and composed like always, his lips breathed her name, and she swears it was enough to make her heart beat faster and make her sure she was alive.
"I've heard what happened. How are you feeling?" Worriedly he said.

"Oh.. uhm.. I'm okay now." She swallowed.
"That's good." Her professor patted her head, so senpai-like, her inner self drooled.

"Thank you for considering my application, professor Itachi... and recommending me to the hospital."
"I have seen your efforts even before you passed the exams.. and I'm proud of you." Sakura couldn't help but blush. It was the first time he had acknowledged her, she had the urge to scream how happy she was but she's going to save it for later.
"I hope you don't mind, but.. what made you choose this field of study?"
