XXXV. The Alliance

He didn't even hesitate.

His brother, Itachi, he knew he only wanted was best for their family, taking on a mission their father had passed to them. But now, it was all blurry to Sasuke. Why? Why would they wipe out an entire clan? Was it for the benefit of the people or the benefit of their clan? It didn't make any sense now.

"Calm yourself, Sasuke. Focus." Itachi advised. He had never seen his brother this anxious before. And he still couldn't believe it. The healer was always on his tail back in Kyoto, his student.

Sasuke felt the heavy gloom in him. He could only figure it was Sakura's. It could only mean she was already in their hands and she was somewhere here in their dimension. There was no time. He had to hurry and look for her.

"SASUKE!" Itachi shouted with authority and warning. His brother stopped in his tracks, he had to go but he didn't know where, but he knew he had to find her.
"Brother, forgive me, but I sense she is already have been captured. I need to save her."

Itachi had his straight face. He let his brother speak.

"Tell me, what is your purpose for taking her? Is it still according to our father's plan?" He asked, his voice cold. Suspicions was already filling him and he could only hope he was wrong.

"No." Sasuke breathed, "I need her."
"For your selfish desires?" Itachi was disappointed.
"No. I just need her." Sasuke said firmly.
"Do you realize that you're going against me if you do this?"
"...yes." Sasuke almost whispered, he was torn. But he won't let them hurt Sakura. She was marked. Everything that happens to her happens to him. Or so that's what he wants to cling on.

Sasuke honestly did not know where he could find her. But he knew he and his brother alone has low chances of defeating Tobi, not especially now that he has Sakura with him. He cannot afford any risks. Not her. Sooner or later, Tobi will know that Sakura has his mark, the Uchiha crest on her nape. He only hopes it won't be too soon.

He can't believe he's going to do this. But he needs to.

Itachi, after all the possible reasons why his brother is acting this way - he assumed a thing that could be only too possible.

"Did you mark her?" His voice was rough, realizations daunting to him.

Sasuke stopped in his tracks, and looked at his brother with the same straight face.

"I did." Sasuke finally said.

"What the hell were you thinking?" His brother almost lost his cool. This was something new and something bad.

The mission was meant to kill the healer.

Then by this, it only meant he had to kill his brother too.

"That ass." The blonde woman, Tsunade, grunted. She never liked the Uchihas. They were always looking for mess. She figured after the sort-of clash that they weren't part of Tobi's, which complicated the situation more. This only means that they are no longer dealing with one enemy but two. "Damn Uchihas." She said angrily as she sat at the chair on their hide out's small clinic.
"It's no use. Those two would carry out their father's mission." Kakashi sighed. He was also tired. They had been losing leads of where Tobi or the brothers might be.
