XXXXII. Uchiha Sasuke

The pinkette decided she will meet Sasuke.

She didn't want to be a hypocrite, all she could think of was seeing him again when she was doing countless attempts of trying to go back to this dimension. She wanted to meet him again. She admitted it and she will admit it again. There was no time to lose. She looked and sounded desperate that it was almost pitiful if people knew what she thought of, but it's okay she says herself, because she's the only one who knows it. Only herself knew about her unrequited love for a killer.

Sakura didn't answer Itachi about him not wanting her to have regrets. He was right and she was just afraid to believe him, but she did anyway. Before she started searching, Sakura promised she'd help out Konan after she meets Itachi first, and so she did. Sakura came along with her to meet Yahiko. The person Konan wanted to be healed.

Konan's place wasn't a typical one, even in this era. She remained to be hidden after the war, she said. She was sure that some of Tobi's allies survived and it wouldn't be a surprise if someone avenged him. It was best to lie low. She kept hidden at this stony cave, but despite its dusty and rocky look, the inside rooms were cleaner than her house, it had a kitchen, two bedrooms and one bigger room, almost covered half of the place, that looked like a lab. In the middle of all the medical equipments and tools, there was a man on the bed with multiple medical cords attached to him. The heart rate was normal as indicated on the monitor, at this era, all her equipments were advanced, she noticed. Yahiko, looked like he had been here for a while, like what Konan said. If she would put it into modern terms, he was in a coma.

"This is Yahiko?" Sakura looked at Konan who was smiling at the sight of him in the bed. Her adoration for him was evident and unashamed.
"Yes, he's been here for more than 4 years now," Konan was still looking at him, "and I hope today is the last day he lies on this bed," She then looks at Sakura with hope. Sakura smiled back, and just when she was about to doubt herself, her mother's advice afloat inside her head and she knew she could do it.

Konan backed up a little and Sakura put her hands together on top of Yahiko's chest. She closed her eyes and asked for help from her own powers. She had doubts, because it had been a year since she last triggered her powers, but to her surprise, it was as easy as she remembered it. As she started, a soft glow of teal was in her hands and it grew stronger little by little. She thought of Konan's desire to see him once again as her motivation to heal him and bring his consciousness back, but she knew she needed more of her own desire rather than someone else's, so she thought of herself wanting Konan to be happy after this. She wanted to thank her with this. She desired Konan to have her happy ending.

A few more minutes had passed when Konan muttered, "Sakura, I- I think it's working," Konan was teary eyed as she saw Yahiko's fingers move after years and years of waiting. When Sakura stopped, a soft unfamiliar groan was heard from Yahiko. He slowly opened up his eyes; blue hair and beautiful gleaming dark golden eyes were the first things he ever saw. Konan was tearful and couldn't help herself but to hug him right away.

Sakura left the room and gave them space. She remembered how happy Konan was after her deed. She was glad she had her happy ending. At this point, Sakura wanted to continue her journey alone. She would find Sasuke on her own. Meet him once again, thank him properly and leave right away.

Right now, all she could think of was what to say first if he ever sees him again. How have you been? It's been a while? Long time no see? I've missed you???

Before that, where should she start searching for him anyway?

Sakura decided not to get help from Konan or Itachi. She thought that if she was able to find him herself, it would mean it was meant to be. They were meant to see each other again. She would leave today, so she set her deadline before sunset. If she is unable to see him by then, she will just give up. A part of her wanted to wait for a month longer, but Sakura no longer wanted to be desperate. She didn't want to give herself false hope. Nothing else had changed after she left, or maybe he despised her even more now. She didn't really know.
