"Alright, girl." Bam Bam announces, slinging his rifle over his shoulder. "Let's go hunting."
"Yippee!" You are so excited that he finally asks you to go hunting with him. Bam has been hesitant to take you hunting with him since you told him you weren't that good with a rifle.
"But I'm really good with throwing knives." You try not to whine as you attempt to convince him that you do have skills that can be used in the bush.
"Yeah?" He raises his eyebrows at you. "So is your plan to just run up on the deer and stab it to death with your knives?" He thinks he's funny. Once he has turned his back to you, heading for the door to the trapper shack, you stick your tongue out at him.
"And stop sticking your tongue out at me." Bam warns. "You think I don't know you?"

You love, love, love being Bam's woman. He's quiet and watchful and you never have to worry about anything when you are with him. He makes you feel so safe and loved. He is determined to take care of you and provide for you. Hunting and bringing home food has always been his thing that he does for you. But now, finally, you get to go hunting with him!
Buckling your knife holster around your hips, you make sure both of your knives are secure in their sheaths. You pull your 45-70 rifle out of the handmade stand and grab an extra box of cartridges, stuffing them in your pack.

"Ready!" You announce with a huge grin.
"Are you going to be quiet when we're in the woods?" Bam grills you.
"Like a mouse!" You yell.
"That's not quiet." He admonishes you with a kiss on your forehead.
"We're not in the woods yet." You challenge, grabbing his face in your hands and kissing him deeply and passionately.
"I should take you hunting with me more often." Bam jokes, moving toward the door. "Let's roll."

Walking quietly behind Bam in the lush greenness of the forest, you are once again in awe of how beautiful this island is. The stillness is unbelievable. The only sounds you hear are the birds and the distant water and the sound of your own footsteps.
"This is beautiful." You dare to whisper. Bam looks back at you, frowning and puts his finger to his lips. You make a zipping motion with your fingers across your lips. As he turns his back to you again, you stick your tongue out at him.
"Put that tongue back in your mouth or I'm coming back there to put it in for you." He growls with mock anger.
"Shhhhh." You tell Bam, putting your finger to your lips.

When Bam finally stops walking, he pulls his rifle off of his shoulder. He motions for you to stand beside him, kneeling on the damp leaves. He points to a place about fifty yards directly in front of you, and there it is. A beautiful young deer that hasn't heard your approach.
"Keep still and don't talk." Bam whispers. "I have never missed what I am aiming at, and I don't want to start now." His eyes are focused only on the deer. You nod even though he isn't looking at you.
Bringing the rifle up and putting his eye to the scope, Bam prepares to fire. He takes a deep breath, holds it...

Suddenly from high in the trees, an eagle screams. Bam's arm jerks just as he takes the shot. The shot misses the deer. Startled, the deer begins to bound away. Bam mutters under his breath, turns and looks you directly in the eye and tells you; "GO!"

You immediately jump up and begin running after the deer. Your speed amazes even you as the adrenalin starts to flow. As you run, you snap open the leather straps on your sheathed knives and take one in each hand. The deer turns as it runs and you realize you have a clear view of your target. Your left hand and right hand fly up at the same time and the knives fly out. The deer, caught high in the neck by both knives, spins and falls.

Bam walks quietly up behind you as you stand looking down at the fallen deer. Your breath comes in short pants from your run. He looks at the deer, then at you, amazed at what just happened.
"OK, you killed it, I'll field dress it." He finally tells you with a smile. "But first..."
Bam grabs you around the waist and pulls you to him, pride and love in his eyes. Just before his lips meet yours, Bam decides.

"Yes, I should take you hunting with me more often."
