Anna's pov://

I got to the stadium and met up with the rest of the cheerleaders. We went ahead and practiced everything so we would have time to do whatever before the game started. The football players all had about ten minutes to talk to their families and stuff before they had to warm up more. I was going to go talk to Gwen when I felt a hand on my shoulder.

"Can we talk?" Hayes asked.

"Yeah sure." I took a deep breath and we walked into a less crowded area. Well an area with like no other people.

"I am so so sorry. I was hurt and I know that gives me no reason to cheat on you or say what I said but please please forgive me. It's hard. It's really hard without you Anna. I need you. I love you. Always have always will." He said with tears brimming his eyes.

"I'm sorry too. Of course I forgive you." I smiled and he pulled me into a hug.

We pulled away and he leaned in to kiss me but I dodged it. He looked confused and hurt.

"I- I can't." I choked out.

"What? Why?" He asked confused.

"I have a-

"Boyfriend." He interrupted me and I nodded slightly. "Gwen." He said.

"Yeah. How did you know?" I asked.

"I've seen he way he looks at you. That's why I was jealous. I knew he liked you as more than a friend." He sighed.

"Why didn't you tell me then!" I exclaimed.

" He's my best friend too. I'm not gonna do that." Hayes answered.

"True." I sighed. "Friends?" I asked.

"I want to be more than friends but I want you to be happy. Friends." He said and looked sad.

I gave him a quick hug before he had to leave. Well dang. I didn't get to talk to Gwen. The game started and we were doing pretty good. I've seen us do better but all that matters is we win and stay undefeated. By halftime, we were only a touchdown ahead. We only won by 7 points in the end, but I was glad we won. I walked over to the gate and waited for Gwen to come out. I finally saw him and walked up to him. He didn't look happy. He wouldn't even look at me.

"Babe. What's wrong?" I asked.

"I did awful." He stated bluntly.

"No you didn't. You did great." I replied and put a hand on his arm.

"I dropped 3 passes and fumbled once." He rolled his eyes.

"Okay it's been a long day just go change and we can go." I gave up.

He walked away just like he came. Gosh. I went back and gathered all my stuff and waited for Gwen. He came out and didn't say a word as we started walking. I started turning to go to my car but he just walked straight. Usually he walked me to my car, but he just didn't tonight. I didn't know he was that upset. I sighed and walked to my car alone. I got in and started towards my house. I went inside and saw a note taped on the counter.

'Mom and Dad went on a trip. I at Nash's. Call me if you need me. Love you - Cam'

I sighed and walked to my room. I checked my phone to see if Gwen even texted me. Nope. I went into my bathroom and took a quick shower. I put on some leggings and a t-shirt and dried my hair so it was straight. I checked my phone seeing I had a message from Hayes but none from Gwen. I opened it.

H- Hey. Glad we're friends again. Cam wanted me to check on you. He was wondering if you were staying at your house tonight but was too busy trying to beat Nash wrestling so he told me to ask.
