Anna's pov://
The phone rang a couple times before he answered groggily.
H- hey
A- sorry for waking you up, but we need your help.
H- you okay?
A- yeah, just come over and I'll explain
H- okay I'm coming
A- thanks babe I love you
H- yeah yeah love you too
"I can't believe he's actually coming." I said to Emma putting my phone down.
"If he's getting out of the bed for you, he must really love you." She laughed.
As I was digging deeper into my research on Kaleb, the bedroom door was opened.
"You really shouldn't leave your front door unlocked at one in the morning." Hayes said walking in.
"Oops." Emma shrugged concentrated on her work.
"What is all this?" Hayes asked.
"We are finding out what's going on with Cameron and my parents. Something isn't right." I said never taking my eyes off the laptop screen.
"Oh my." He replied and I laughed.
"Yeah you're right oh my. We aren't stopping until we figure it out." Emma stated.
"Oh please. You will both be out by four." Hayes replied.
"Bet." Emma said.
"Be-" Hayes started but I cut him off.
"Guys! Check this out." I said interrupting them.
They came and sat beside me on the bed.
"Kaleb is the stepbrother of Jarred, the guy who killed Maddie." I said pointing to the screen.
"Do you think Kaleb is a hitman too?" Emma asked.
"Could be. He's got the body for it." I shrugged.
"What's that supposed to mean?" Hayes asked clearly jelous.
"It means he's 6'1 and built. That's all." I replied.
"He's your type." Hayes crossed his arms.
"Is not. You're my type." I argued and he just smiled.
"Awwww." Emma cooed.
I laughed and focused back on the screen.
"Spotless criminal record. I don't get it." I sighed frustratedly. "He's just a normal high school guy."
"I'm sure this will take time Anna. We can't just expect to figure everything out in one night." Emma said softly.
"I'm just so confused." I replied and shut the laptop laying back on the bed.
"It's all going to be alright." Hayes said grabbing my hand.
"I'm just worried. What if something happens to him?" I asked.
"He's gonna be fine, so are you." I smiled at Hayes and he leaned down and kissed me softly.
"I love you."
"I love you more." I replied.
"Impossible." He smiled widely and I giggled.
