You should have a slight understanding of genders now, perhaps. You know about transgenders, or you are one yourself. Well, being a certain gender comes with certain pronouns, because English must go on no matter what gender you are.
The first pronouns are he/him. These are used for male genders. Simple, easy.
Then there's she/her. These are used for female genders, obviously. Pretty easy still.
Now for the fun part!
There's the pronouns that are they/them. These pronouns are typically used for non-binary, gender fluid, and whoever else wants these.
Now before you go yell at me because they and them are typically used for more than one person, I want you to take a seat and shut up. Language evolves. You know that, right? Well, English is now going to make using them and they appropriate for referring to one person as well as a group of people. Alright? Understood? No? I don't care.
Ooh, now for a super fun part!
There are some pronouns that are a bit different. And by different I mean they don't exist in the dictionary (yet) but some people still use them. These pronouns are ze/zir. Non-binary and genderless people use these pronouns.
There's also xi/xir. Another gender neutral set of pronouns.
If you don't know a pronoun, I'd suggest that you say they/them since those pronouns are pretty gender neutral.
If you a human being (or alien, we don't discriminate) that has another set of pronouns, just tell me and I'll add them in!
If someone doesn't use your correct pronoun, usually it's a honest mistake. Don't get all prissy and start throwing a fit, ok? Only throw a fit if the person calls you the wrong pronouns on purpose. Just be patient with everyone. Most people are ignorant, and that's that.
I'll be doing a chapter on sayings for all of the different sexualities and genders and such, so if you have a saying please comment!
