Percy Jackson and the Avengers

Part 9

I had remembered the young girl from Tarterous. I had always suspected that the Elaine from Tarterous and the Elaine from here are the same person. The only difference is that Elaine is now clean and not covered in blood and dirt. In the time I spent with Elaine before I got here was just as caring as Elaine now.

" Elaine," I started as we walked to school after putting Chris in the car so Stephanie could take him to daycare." When was the last time you were...taken?" Elaine stopped short startling Riley who was in her arms resting on her shoulder.

" A few weeks ago, a boy saved my life I can't remember his face or his voice but we escaped then he left." She said.

" Ya about that." I said nervously." After...They were killed in front of me I was transported to a hideout in TX. There was a girl there half dead I saved her from death, that girl was you."

" Oh..." She said." Then I owe you my life."

" No," I answered." You owe nothing."

Elaine looked like she was going to argue but I started to walk away. She walked down the street with Riley on her hip and Madeline standing beside her. Jet held my hand and looked up, his eyes calculating me.

" Percy?" Jet asked.

" Ya?" I asked.

" Where's your mom and dad?" He asked.

" Dead, along with all my friends and soulmate." I said.

" I'm sorry." He said.

" Don't be. I was kidnapped by the same people who took your sister a few weeks ago." I said." She was about dead so I saved her and she saved me."

" Ya, she dose that a lot." He muttered as we neared the school.

" What?" I asked.

" She saves many people, she won't leave till all the prisnors are safe." He said with a smile.

" Jet," Elaine said. Jet nodded twords her." No talking about what happened please, school is not something I want to be another freak in." Jet nodded sadly.

We walked into the school getting odd looks from every one. We went to the office to get our schedules and room numbers...and directions.  Elaine took the kids and stood outside the door not wanting to bombard the desk lady with all the kids.

" Hello," I said to get her attenchain. Instead of a 30 some old lady it was a 16 year old. She smiled at the sight of me.

" Hi I am Elizabeth." She started." What can I do for ya?"

" Um, I need the schedules of Elaine Poltergeist and Percy Jackson. I need to know where the 5th grade class is and the 3rd grade class is. And I need to know where the...pre K class is." I rattled.

" Why?" She asked.

" My foster family is outside waiting." I answered. She handed me two schedules and opened her mouth then smiled.

" The rest will have to cost you." She said tapping her lips. I made a face.

" I'll find it." I answered quickly. I walked out and sighed.

" Well?" Elaine asked.

" We will be late." I answered. I handed her the schedules." We need to find them by our self." She nodded. She started walking, Riley on her hip and Madeline trailing behind, Jet came up to me and pulled me along.

It took about 13 minuets but we found the Pre K room. Elaine and I walked her in as the others stood waiting outside. The teacher was not at all happy that her itsy bitsy spider was interrupted but got over it as soon as she herd why she was late.
