Mohit
After finishing office we decided to hit the bar. Although we worked in same office we were all so busy to catch up. Aman was busy dating Alisha. Dinesh was with Oona. As for me I was enjoying the single life again. Technically I wasn't single but as long as Rutt was away I was free to do whatever I felt like. It was very close to being single. So we three, Dinesh, Aman and I, were at our regular bar and were having beers. Gold coin ran happy hours from 4:00 pm to 6:30 pm and we were just in time to avail the offer. Dinesh seemed extremely happy but it had nothing to do with happy hours. He had met Oona the other day and he claimed they hit-off very well. On the other hand Aman looked preoccupied and lost in his thoughts. Apparently he went on his second date with Alisha one day ago and was very quite ever since. Dinesh was extremely happy; Aman was extremely silent. I was the only one who was acting normal. Perks of being without a girl, I guess.
"So you and Oona huh?" I asked Dinesh.
Dinesh grinned. "Yes."He could not help smiling.
"But how do you know she is your soul mate? It doesn't make sense. You have met her only once."
"It doesn't have to make sense. It is something that happens. I don't know whether you have noticed it before or not but sometimes when you see someone for the first time ...like you could be passing on the street and you look at each other for a few seconds...there is this kind of recognition...like you both know each other from before. Sometimes one good look is enough to tell she is the one. Believe me it happens."
"Wow." I replied in awe. I never expected these words to come out of Dinesh. I was impressed.
"What is she like?" I asked.
"Oh, she is really great. She's got real warmth about her. She is really bright and really pretty."
I looked at Aman who was engrossed in deep thoughts. "Where are you lost?" I asked him.
"He must be lost in Alisha's thoughts," a smiling Dinesh said.
Aman didn't budge. It was as if he was oblivious to our presence. Even since his second date with Alisha he seemed lost like he was somewhere else physically.
"I think he is in love with Alisha," Dinesh said laughing.
I hated the very thought of Aman being with Alisha. It wasn't like Alisha was my girlfriend but I hated it.
Aman finally moved and adjusted his hat a little askew.
Since when does he wear hat. I was convinced the hat had something to do with Alisha.
"I think I love her," he said turning to us.
No; you don't!
"I think she loves me too," he added.
No; she doesn't!
"I think I should tell her how I feel," he went on.
This isn't right. He should not fall for Alisha.
I knew I had to do something to stop Aman but I was out of ideas. So, I convinced Dinesh to stop Aman as he was going very fast with the relationship. For the first time in my life Dinesh shared the same opinion with me; our thoughts were in conjunction.
"I think you are rushing in," Dinesh said to Aman.
"I totally agree to agree with Dinesh," I added supporting Dinesh.
Aman was not convinced. "I am going to see her," he said rising up from his seat.
"You cannot see her now," I said to stop him.
