Note: I am so sorry it has taken me so long to update this chapter! I am swamped with homework. I only have three more classes left before Christmas break so I will update more often when I am on break. I am solely concentrating on finals first because I still have a presentation and some assignments left.
By the way, what does everything think of this version of the story? Which do you like better? This chapter is pretty much the same, but there are so many huge changes coming! Anything you want to see happen in Kayla's senior year?
Chapter 39
"How long does our presentation have to be again?" I asked Simon.
"Ten minutes."
"We only have enough information for five right now."
"I can go to the library tomorrow and pick out another book we can use as our second source."
"Thanks, that's a good idea."
I heard a knock at the door and I stood up, "That's Dylan with the pizza."
Simon smiled, "Perfect time for a break."
I opened the door and smiled at Dylan, "Perfect timing."
He kissed me quickly, "Why? Because you're hungry?"
"Yup," I laughed.
"On the table right?"
"Yes please."
Simon and I both followed Dylan into the kitchen, "How's the project going?"
"Okay," I shrugged, "We need more information."
"That's why Maria and I are not meeting until tomorrow. We are getting books today, which reminds me, can I borrow one from your library?"
"Of course," I smiled. "Simon you can go ahead and grab some pizza Dylan and I will be right back."
"Okay," Simon nodded and started helping himself to the pizza.
I pulled Dylan into the library, "You're going to be nice right?"
"I will, I promise."
"Good. Now what book do you need?"
"We're doing option one on the teacher's list."
"And we're doing three. I know which book you need."
"Good," he chuckled, "Because I couldn't remember what it's called."
I went to the bookshelf in the corner and took a book from the top shelf. I walked back over to Dylan and handed it to him, "There you go."
He smiled and kissed me, "Thank you."
"Let's go back and join Simon before he thinks we left or something."
We walked back out to the kitchen where Simon was sitting at the table with his books to one side of him and the pizza to the other. He's dedicated to school, I will give him that. I can almost guarantee he's going to be our class' valedictorian. I grabbed a couple slices of pizza and sat down next to him and Dylan followed and sat next to me.
"I thought of something," Simon said and pointed to the book. "They have some great facts here we could use to help the class understand the concept we're trying to tell them about."
"That's a great idea. It will really simplify it for everyone I think."
"Yup," he nodded.
"We should have those last on the presentation."
