Chapter 55
"Dylan? Dylan. Dylan!" I sang in his ear.
"What are you doing here?" he mumbled. "Are my parents home?"
"No which is why I walked in. I knocked quite a few times but nobody answered so I walked in, noticed your parents weren't here, and came in here to find you."
"What day is it?"
I giggled, "It's the first day of Christmas break and the only day we have off."
"Right," he said, "Can you get off my back now?"
I chuckled, "I guess."
I rolled off his back and sat next to him. He sat up and glanced over at me, "What do you want to do today?"
I shrugged, "I don't care. I finished all my homework so I wouldn't worry about it later. My next interview isn't until tomorrow so I have a free day."
"That doesn't happen very often does it?"
"Definitely not," I agreed.
He ran his hand through his hair, "I think I'm awake now."
"Good morning then," I smiled.
He ran one of his hands through my hair and kissed me lightly, "Good morning."
"Your parents won't randomly show up will they?"
"I hope not. This would be an interesting situation to explain."
I giggled, "Yes it would."
"Want to eat breakfast here or go out?"
"We can go out."
"iHop?" he asked.
"Please?" I chuckled.
"Okay," he chuckled with me, "We can go to iHop."
"Yay!"
"We can figure out our day from there."
"Sounds like a deal. Want coffee first?"
He nodded, "I'll be down in a minute."
"Okay," I replied and stood up.
"Wait," he grabbed my hand.
"Yeah?"
"One more kiss."
I smiled and kissed him, "Better?"
He nodded and smiled at me, "Much better."
"I'll go make your coffee."
"You're the best." I walked to the kitchen and started the coffee. I opened the cupboard and took out two mugs, setting them on the counter. I opened my purse on the table and took out my phone. I only had one unread message from Lolita explaining our plans for tomorrow. I ignored the message. I don't want to think about plans today. Today is about enjoying my day off. Dylan walked in shortly after and kissed my head. "Thanks for the coffee."
"No problem," I smiled, "I needed some anyway."
"We can leave as soon as we've finished our coffee."
"Deal."
"When do we go to the next school?"
"Tomorrow afternoon," I answered. "I have my interview in the morning then I am going home to pack and we are meeting the group to head to the next school in the van. This school is farther away so we'll be staying in a hotel for a few days."
"Then we're going to another school after right?"
I nodded, "We'll pretty much be on the road most of Christmas break." Dylan sighed. He looks disappointed. "What's wrong?" I asked him.
