The car ride to the bowling alley was nothing special. I sat in the passenger seat, while Yoandri was driving. The other three guys were squashed in the back seat, constantly arguing about who was touching whose leg. At times I wanted to laugh at their bickering, but I held it in. Once we got there, all the boys ran inside like small children. Yoandri stayed behind with me.

“So what do you think about my friends?” Yoandri asked, giving me a lopsided smile.

I looked at him with a blank expression, “They’re cool.” I dryly replied. To be honest, I didn’t really look at his friends. The fact that they were going to drag me out of my house had me feelin some type of way.

“You know what? I’ll ask you again when we’re about to leave. I bet your opinion will change.” Yoandri told me, the smile never leaving his face.

I shrugged “If you say so.” We were already at the door and Yoandri opened it for me. I walked inside, the lights blinding me for a second.

“Stop being so bitter Mari, It’s time to have some fun.” He’s right, I am bitter. If only he knew why.
