Chapter 14

I was almost falling asleep on the living room floor when I heard somebody knocking on my door. I had no intentions of opening the door. It was almost 1am and my lack of sleep was the reason I could barely keep my eyes open.

At some point the knocking stopped. I was starting to fall asleep again when I felt a tap on my shoulder. Never in my life had I stood up so fast. It was dark and I couldn't see so I started throwing punches at random directions.

"OW! OW! Stop! Mari, It's me Yoyo! OW MY TOOTH!" The burglar said.

"How do I know you're not lying? How do I know you're not an ax murderer?" I questioned still throwing punches, not caring what I hit.

"Mari stop it!!!" He yelled. I didn't stop, I kept hitting him. At some point I felt the burglar walking, so I tried to follow him.

I don't know how it happened, but next thing I knew I was on the floor lying on top of a body.

"Ow my back." The burglar heavily breathed. He started reaching into his pocket and for a second I felt scared for my life. What if he pulled out a knife?

Instead, I felt a bright light in my eyes and no matter how much I tried to shield it away, it stayed there. The burglar pointed the light towards somewhere else and then to his face.

"See, it's me Yoandri." He calmly said. "I wouldn't murder you." He lightly chuckled. That's when I saw something that totally made me lose it and burst into hysterics.

"OMG Yoyo! I am so sorry. Well I'm not because you broke into my house and almost gave me a heart attack." I said as I laughed loudly.

Yoandri looked at me with a puzzled expression. "What's so funny?" He asked.

"Yoandri..." I tried to start off with a serious expression, "I just chipped off your tooth." I said and then started laughing all over again.

"What? No no no no." Yoandri said as he turned on his front camera. His reaction was funny. He looked both surprised and scared.

"Mari!! It's not funny, stop laughing." He tried to tell me with a serious look on his face, but completely failing as he soon started laughing along with me.

I looked at him in amazement, "Yoyo, I don't understand why you're laughing? I literally just ruined your smile and you're lying here laughing along with me." That's when it hit me, I was still on top of Yoandri from when we fell.

I rolled over to his side and just layed there. The living room was slightly dark since the lights were still off, the only thing lighting up the room was Yoyo's phone flashlight.

"Why did you get off? I was starting to like it." Yoyo lightly joked. I elbowed him in response. "Ow! You are really aggressive. Or do you really enjoy seeing me in pain?"

"Yes, seeing you in pain makes my icy heart melt." I sarcastically replied. "But I kinda am sorry about your teeth."

"It's nothing I can't fix," he waved off. "I guess it is my fault for breaking into your house, so I'm sorry."

"Why are you here in the first place?" I asked. It came out harsher than I intended.

"I want to get to know you better." He softly replied.

"At 1:30am?"

"Yes." He said facing me. "So get prepared because my question session is about to begin." He smiled at me.
