Chapter 11

Yoandri's POV

I decided to go drop Mari off first. Her house was closer to our location and it made things easier. The drive back was awfully quiet, well besides Richard's and Johann's constant arguing over gummy bears.

When we finally arrived to her house I decided to walk her to her door. She was quiet, but I could tell that she was lost in her thoughts.

"Well, this is it." She quietly sighed.

"Yeah." I scratched the back of my neck unsure of what to say.

"Thanks for today Yoyo." I chuckled at the fact that she called me by my nickname. "I had lots of fun." She added with a small smile.

It didn't take an x-ray to see right through her smile. I could tell that she was still unhappy about something, but at least her eyes were shining a bit more than yesterday.

"It's no problem Mari, I'll see you soon." I said, and quickly hugged her without thinking. Before she could react I pulled away and made my way to the car.

As soon as I got in the car all the boys started mocking me. Johann who was now in the passenger seat started making kissing noises and laughing out loud.

"Ay Yolandri, I can't believe you're replacing me." Johann said with a really girly voice placing a hand on his heart.

"Yeah! Get it boyyy." Richard happily added.

I started laughing at their silliness. Joshua only shook his head with a small smile playing on his lips. I dropped Johann and Richard off next since they were currently sharing a small apartment. They waved their goodbyes after making me promise that I was going to bring Mari along with us some time soon.

Now it was only Joshua and I. Joshua was literally my next door neighbor. We basically grew up together and he was like an older brother to me even though the age difference wasn't that much.

"Mariana seems lovely." Joshua suddenly said. His words made me smile, it made me happy to see that he approved of her.

"Hitting on her are we?" I joked. Joshua laughed at my words and shook his head.

"Naw man, she's all yours." He laughed back. "Besides, I have enough trouble already." I frowned. What could he mean by this.

"Relax Yoyo, she just needs somebody like you to take care of her." He smiled. We were only down the street from our houses, the city lights decorating the streets.

"Take care of her from what?" I slowly asked. This caused Joshua to roll his eyes.

"Your cluelessness drives me insane sometimes." He said as he face palmed himself. "Take care of her like she deserves to be cared. Protect her from herself Yoyo." He added.

I nodded at his words. What could he mean by that? Joshua was always trying to be wise and help others, but I just couldn't understand.

We were outside our houses and Joshua got out the car. "Just think about it." Was all he said before he walked over to his house and went inside.
