We got back to the pack house at 9:00. Wow, we spent a long time at the mall.
Ivory was still sleeping and only shifted when I swerved the car to avoid some idiot.
"Where have you been?" Dante demanded as he stomped out to the car. I didn't answer him, only placed the keys in his hand and picked up Ivory, cradling him. He was so small and sweet and so easily broken.
I walked past Dante, going into my room. Dante followed but I closed the door before he got in.
I put Ivory on the bed and pulled the blankets over his body.
Guess we're not playing tonight. That's fine, though. I just want to hold him.
I stripped and laid beside Ivory, wrapping my arms around him.
"I missed you." He mumbled and I held him tighter. It was so nice feeling him here. Feeling him in general.
"I missed you too." I replied softly and kissed his head.
His breathing slowed and I watched as he slept. He was so peaceful.
I gently pushed his dark hair out of his eyes.
He mumbled something incoherent and snuggled farther into my chest. A whimper sounded from him and he began to squirm. My eyes narrowed in confusion.
"Ivory?"
"Baby?"
"Are you okay?" His squirming and whimpering got worse.
"Ivory!" I tried shaking him awake.
"P-please. Don't hurt them! Please!" He cried and pushed away from me.
After a few attempts, I managed to grab his hands to stop him from pushing me away.
"Ivory, wake up." I shook him.
He screamed and tears began to drip down his cheeks.
"Ivory!" I continued to shake him.
His eyes popped open in terror and he sobbed, curling into a ball.
I pulled him in my arms and he cried into my chest.
"Shh, baby, it's gonna be okay." I tried to comfort him while petting his hair.
His crying eventually stopped but his body still shook.
He pulled back slightly to look up at me. I wipe away the tears on his cheeks with my thumbs.
"Sammy, I'm hungry."
"Let's go down to the kitchen and I'll make you some food." I picked him up and carried him out of my room.
Dante was in the kitchen and groaned when he saw us.
I rolled my eyes and placed Ivory on the counter.
"What do you want?" I asked him quietly.
"W-what is there?"
"I can make you some Mac-and-cheese." I suggested.
He smiled and nodded, placing a soft kiss on my cheek.
Dante glared at Ivory before leaving the room quickly.
"You don't want to stay for Mac-and cheese?" I called to him.
"Fuck off!"
I laughed.
Grabbing a pot, I fill it halfway with water and put the stove on as high then set the pot onto it. Once the water began boiling, I dropped the box of Mac-and-cheese into the water and stirred. After seven or so minutes of occasional stirring, I took the pot off the stove and poured in the milk, cheese, and butter.
