///Chapter 20\\\
Tyler's POV
I was going crazy. I wanted to see Luna so bad but Ian wouldn’t let me out of the room. He said if I went to talk to her she would fill my head with lies. I knew this was a mistake but until I could talk to Luna there was no way to be sure. I wasn’t doubting her, I just needed to be sure.
“Your Majesty.” One of the guards assigned to my room calls.
“What?” I ask.
“You are wanted in the lounge.” He says and I sigh, rubbing my temples.
“Alright.”
I got up from my bed and walked slowly down the hall to the lounge. Dad was pacing back and forth and Ariel was propped up in one of the chairs, a loose shirt covering her bandages. Ian was standing lazily against one of the book cases, looking both bored and eager.
“What’s going on?” I ask, standing behind Ariel and gripping the chair tightly.
“I’m afraid we have to take these charges seriously Tyler.” Dad says. “They have physical evidence and it’s hard to prove wrong. We’ve had this suspicion for a while Tyler. You know her history.”
“She would never do something like this dad. She would have spoken to me about changing things. She wouldn’t find someone to do this.” I counter and dad sighs deeply
“I know that’s what you think but we can’t take this lightly. One of the guards confessed to her seducing him and telling him to…attack Ariel.”
“That’s impossible. Why would she want those words written though? Her reaction was genuine. There was no way.”
“She probably had those words to seem innocent. She’s smart and you know it, she’s also a good actress. Tyler you have to understand how serious this is. I know you love her but this is a death threat. And you should see the extensive planning in her journal.” Dad says and I give him a confused look before he handed me over a simple note book. A dedication from her parents was written on the front cover.
“You went through her stuff?” I almost yell.
“We had to. We needed to know if this was serious and it was. Flip to the last dozen entries.” Dad says and I regrettably do.
I am slowly biding my time. It won’t be much longer until everything falls into place. I’ve already got Tyler wrapped around my finger. Ariel has already begun to like me and I’m sure I haven’t made a bad impression on the King either. They all think I’m so innocent, if only they knew. The System is going down one way or another. It’s long sense time that things change and I’m going to make sure that happens. No. Matter. What.
It’s almost funny to think how easy I’ll get off. They’ll never suspect it was me. If everything goes just right I’ll see like the victim, all innocent and scared. I can’t wait to see Tyler’s reaction and then the stupid guard, as long as he keeps his mouth shut. If not then it will just be a night in the cell before someone finds me innocent and lets me out. Then I can be free to finish the rest of the plan.
My mouth continued to drop as I read it. I couldn’t believe Luna wrote this. I didn’t believe it, and it was all after I had brought her stuff here. Almost everyday she wrote of something wrong with the System and how she was going to change it. Bit by bit her plan unraveled and right now she was slowly waiting out part of it.
“I have to go talk to her.” I demand and dad just shakes his head but before he can say anything Ariel does.
“Don’t give her the company.” Ariel sneers and I look at her confused. “Look at what she did to me Tyler. She deserves to rot in that cell without any kind of human contact.”
