{Song in video: Shridhar Solanki & Sidh Solanki - I Like That}

The next few weeks everything was going great. Jace and I hung out a lot, my mom seemed happier, my dad had settled in, and Mr. Zielinski was giving me less grief.

Me and Katie had finished painting her closet doors to look like the TARDIS so we worked on painting my book shelf to look like it.

My mom knocked on the door.

"Come in!" I called out.

She came in and grinned. "Okay so I know I didn't tell you but I've been seeing a guy the past few weeks," she said. Well that explained her coming home later than usual and looking really happy.

"Oh really? That's great mom," I said and smiled.

"And I'm going to dinner with him tonight and I told him you'd come."

"Oh okay that's cool."

"He's coming here first so he can meet you."

"That's great. Well I'm going to shower and get ready then." It was already a little past 4.

"Can I come too?" Katie asked.

"Yes of course!" My mom said. She went downstairs.

Meanwhile, I got ready and Katie just chilled. After I showered and got dressed we decided to sing and dance along to "I Like That" by Shridhar Solanki & Sidh Solanki. It was the theme song to "Young & Hungry." We loved that song. We sang and danced to it for about a minute in a half and then I noticed my mom and her date had watched us. I quickly shut off the song and whined "Mom!" and then I noticed that my mom's date was none other than Mr. Zielinski.

WHAT. THE. FREAKIN'. HELL.

I stood there frozen and looked horrified. Katie turned around and her mouth dropped. Mr. Zielinski looked shocked and his mouth was open too. We were silent for a few seconds and then Katie hysterically yelled, "Oh my God!" over and over again and laughed hysterically.

"What's so funny?" My mom asked and looked really confused.

"Your-your...b-boyfriend i-is our t-teacher," Katie said and stuttered while laughing really hard.

I snapped back into reality. "Yeah...he's our English teacher..."

"Oh. Well I knew he was a teacher at your school but didn't know you two had him," my mom said and smiled.

"Yeah they're my students," Mr. Zielinski said, still shocked.

"Well are they behaving?" My mom laughed.

"Oh my God I know the perfect song for this moment!" Katie interrupted and yelled. She got her phone out and then played "Be My Lover" by La Bouche. She sprawled on the floor.

I felt even more horrified. "Katie," I gritted. "Not now!"

But she ignored me and kept laughing hysterically with tears in her eyes and kept playing the song. It went on for about a minute and finally my mom said, "Um we should go downstairs."

They walked downstairs and after they were out of earshot I said to Katie, "What the hell Katie!"

She was still laughing but not as hysterical. "What? It's not my fault your mom is dating your teacher who is also your ex-boyfriend. This is too good to be true!" she exclaimed.

"I just can't believe this is happening. Do you think he knew? Would he do that?"

She shrugged. "I don't know but this is so dang hilarious." She got up from the floor and then we went downstairs.
