i was supposed to post this yesterday but fell asleep :/ merry christmas! now.. i know y'all have been asking for this for a while now so i figured it'd be a great present from me to you bc i'm so thankful you take the time to read this and i love you all so much. so enjoy! i might end up deleting this bc it has nothing really to do with the story but we'll see and also i had some wonderful help from sarah who wanted to write again.
Johns POV
It's December 31st.. only 10 minutes until the new year officially starts. This year has been amazing, I mean.. from getting katy back to expecting a child, to being engaged.. it's just so surreal. I feel like I don't deserve this, I don't deserve her unconditional love. Not after what I've put her through but here she is.. willing to spend forever with me.
We were currently at a new years party, awaiting the ball drop that was minutes away. All of our closest friends and family were here to bring in the new year together. To be completely honest, I was hoping to stay home with katy tonight.. just the two of us, but katy has always been the social type and I just couldn't say no to her.
The room was crowded with people, music was playing, people were dancing.. typical party, but it wasn't anything too wild.. I began weaving through the crowd searching for katy since I had lost her sometime during the night. She told me she was off to go talk to her friends but I never seemed to find her afterwards.. but since we were moments away from midnight I knew I needed to find her soon.
I finally found her standing with a group of her friends as they laughed together, her beauty slighting catching me off guard as I took a moment to take her in. I swear I stopped breathing every time I saw her, she never failed to amaze me. I started walking her direction when I saw two men standing a small distance away from katy admiring her. Looking at her a way that only I was allowed to look at her. They stood there pointing, smiling, obviously saying things that I knew would earn them a punch if I could hear it. I guess there's always that one downfall to having a beautiful girlfriend.. or now in my case fiancé. That felt so good to say... katy was my fiancé. I always loved introducing her to people as that now, it's like she was officially mine for the keeping and I got to show her off to everyone. Showing them what a wonderful, amazing, beautiful woman I was able to love.
Hating the fact that these two men were still staring at her like a piece of meat, I quickly rushed over to her, making sure their eyes were still on us. "Hey, baby.." I said as grabbed her waist and kissed her as passionately as I could knowing who was watching. I'm also quite aware that her friends are standing here too but frankly I couldn't give a fuck. She didn't even have time to realize what was going on but as soon as my lips touched hers she kissed me back, with just as much force before we pulled away.
"You're a few minutes early on that one." She giggled, but all my attention was focused on those men that were now looking me directly in the eyes with disgust. I wrapped my arm tighter around her waist as I led her over to the wall, never taking my eyes off of them until they were out of my sight. It's probably something I should be used to by now.. I mean she's katy perry.. and she's gorgeous of course people are going to stare and say or do things that I won't like but I still can't help this sense of jealousy that comes over me.
"What was that all about?" She asked me once we finally had some more privacy to talk. She ran her hands up and down my chest as I pulled her closer until our bodies were touching.
"People were just.. I don't know.. Looking at you in a way I didn't like so I had to show them who they were about to mess with." I chuckled as her eyelids fluttered down as she looked at the floor shyly. "Do you have to be so sexy? It's wearing me down you know.. constantly telling all these guys to back off." I joked, noticing how perfect she actually did look tonight.
