Guys, so I just finished reading the Mockingjay.
And I just realised that so many of the characters in HG and PJO/HoO share attributes or names, and worst of all, almost all of them are frickin dead.
Take a look at Castor and Pollux from the Hunger Games. Two brothers who are 'insects'. Pollux an Avox. Both dead (right?)
Now the PJO Castor and Pollux. Two brothers as well. Both sons of Dionysus. One dead, the other grieving for his lost brother everyday.
Then there's Mitchell from the HG series and Mitchell in the Aphrodite Cabin at camp.
Also Soldier Jackson and Sally Jackson.
Then in BoO Ricky makes a HG reference. See for yourself on page 110.
Leo forced his fists to unclench. "Look, lady, we're not going to go all Hunger Games on each other."
Also, according to Rick Riordan, the Hunger Games is, and I quote, "As close to a perfect adventure novel as I've ever read." Which means he read the Hunger Games.
Finally.
Finnick Odair and Annie Cresta.
Finnick is very son-of-poseidony, wields tridents, comes from District 4 which is fishing, blah blah blah. Like Percy.
And Annie Cresta. Annie.
Annie is the nickname that Luke and Thalia have for Annabeth. Annie and Annabeth.
Finnick and Annie are married.
Percy and Annabeth are dating.
Guys. Consider the fact that PJO/HoO is actually a fanfiction of Hunger Games, and that Rick is a massive fanboy of them.
