A/n to be honest I don't know if you guys read the stuff before the chapter.
For those that do, HAPPY NEW YEAR! May this year be filled with many blessings!
This chapter's a bit lengthy, but I hope you enjoy!
------------
Rushing past terminals, Miguel and I make it to ours. Finding seats, we place down our things and sit back to rest. From early morning, the two of us had to make sure we had everything we needed and dressed warm enough for the cold. The previous day we had to go shopping for the thick outerwear that aren't needed here in SoCal.
"Momma, I'm tired," Miguel mumbles.
"Sorry, Hun. I know I am too, but I need you to stay up. You can sleep on the plane. It will be a long flight especially since this is a straight flight. I need to make sure we don't get a bad case of jet lag, okay?" He nods silently. He mindlessly plays games on the tablet and I check the time. We came a lot later than I had hoped, but we came early enough to settle ourselves.
I sigh and lean back and roll my neck and shoulders. It's definitely going to be a long day. I hope Miguel can keep up. This time I'm not sure what's going to happen with him during our stay. Especially since this time, Mark's parents aren't here. I can't leave him with the boys because they have their own thing too. And I'm definitely not leaving him at the hotel.
I ruffle through my bag and pull out the schedule for tomorrow. It seems as though I'm going to be active both mentally and physically.
Ding. Ding.
After falling asleep right before our call ended, Mark hasn't let it go. And as promised, we've been texting constantly especially this morning. He's been checking up on me making sure I have everything I would need and told me what I wouldn't need.
'Are you at the terminal already?'
'Yeah, just got here a few minutes ago. Now we are just waiting.'
'Oh that's good. Don't let Miguel sleep till the plane! He's going to have a hard time adjusting when you guys get here.'
'I know, I know. I already told him. He's playing games right now.' I could see the tired look in his eyes, but I needed him awake.
'You have your passport and boarding pass right? Make sure you have it and don't lose it!' I roll my eyes at his texts. He's like a mother I swear.
'Yes "mom" I have everything. Geez, relax there, buddy. You've been making sure I have everything since I woke up this morning.'
'Sorry. I just want to make sure you have everything and are prepared. I wish I was able to pick you up. Who's picking you up? Can I have their number?' Again, I roll my eyes. Who does he think he is?
'One of Eric's friends he made the last time he was there. I can't just give you her number. I'll text you once I land and once I meet her. Chill.'
'Promise!?'
'Yes, promise. Were you always this needy and nags a lot?'
'I am not!'
'Yes you are!'
'No!'
'Yes!'
'NO!'
'YES!'
'NO, IM NOT!'
'YES YOU ARE! Now if you please I'd like to go beyond this topic.'
'Why do you have to have the last word?'
