"Christine!" I am startled by the alarming call of my PD and boss. I had just entered and am already looked for. I quickly make my way to them and see Eric here as well. Miguel, who I had brought with me today quickly goes over to Eric and is lifted in his arms.
"What's going on?" I ask confused with all of the attention.
"JYP representative is here. He says there is a Skype call with JYP himself," my PD tells me nervous yet excited. My eyebrows furrow in confusion.
"What? But I have the sho-"
"That's what I'm here for. I got you covered," Eric cuts me off.
"And Miguel?"
"Will be staying with us. I'm sure he will have fun pressing buttons," one of the writers tells me.
"I'll be joining you in the meeting," my boss tells me. I nod unsure.
"Hun, will you be okay? Momma has to attend a meeting," I ask Miguel.
"With who? Can't I sit with you?" He asks back. Today was suppose to be an us day.
"I'm sorry sweetheart. I promise I'll finish it quickly and come back to you. We can go eat ice cream and have fun at the park. I promise." He gives it a thought before solemnly nodding. "Thank you. I'll see you soon."
I kiss his forehead and allow him to be taken in the back room before heading towards a conference room. I am met with a well dressed man that has been groomed nicely. I bow and greet him politely as I introduce myself as does he.
I only realized then that my boss would understand very little in this meeting unless spoken in English.
"He wants to talk to you face to face, but under some circumstances, this would be the best option," the man I came to know as Minjun explains to me. I nod and seat myself at the table in front of the laptop.
He sets it up and makes the call. My boss sits at my other side and we patiently wait for JYP. His face appears first before a smile is etched onto his face.
"Hello," he greets. My boss and I both greet him back. "Thank you for letting me meet with you like this."
It wasn't really like I had a choice, but we both know he said it out of respect. "Oh, no problem!"
"Do you know why I want to meet with you?" He asks. I glance at Minjun and my boss before shaking my head. "The proposition I gave you the other day. Do you have an answer?"
"I already mentioned before that I wasn't for moving to Korea," I remind him. He sighs and nods. My boss lays a hand on my shoulder and I look at him expectantly.
"I think it'll be good. It'll give us a chance to expand-"
"But what about my section of AsianInvasion? The whole point was to expand Asian music to the states. If I'm over there it what's going to happen?" I ask. I wasn't for it. I really wasn't.
"We'll expand to a different topic. Eric can take care of AsianInvasion. You'll have a more Korean based talk show. It'll also be easier for us because you can do all of the publicity and events for us in Asia since you're already there. It'll be cheaper and-"
"Woah woah woah," I cut him off. "I remind you all I still have Miguel. I have to take care of him and I have to accommodate his needs. I don't want to confuse him and I hope not to throw him into the public eye more than he already is. At least not until he says he wants to and is mentally prepared."
"You can just have a sitter-"
"I already feel bad that he has a sitter now-"
"You aren't even his mother!" I star at my boss with fury. How dare he say that. How dare he say I am not his mother. Even if I'm not his birth mother I am his mother as much as the next. I think I deserve to be called his mother more than Jessica. If he's in the public eye people will look into his story. I want him to be prepared with the public knowing. I want him to be fully prepared.
