"Over here! Over here!" Flashes were in my eyes and I wished I had not packed my sunglasses deep in my luggage. I had just landed and was exhausted. I was alone after returning from my trip to the states. Something must have happened since my time away as it was not like this when I had left.
"Are the rumors true?"
"Is that why you went to the states?"
"Give us a comment!"
I was overwhelmed and overly sensitive with being ambushed like this. I try and cover my eyes with my hand as I quickly make my way outside of the airport. They continue to follow me until security finally comes to help. I quickly jump into a taxi and let out a big sigh. I tell the driver the address to Yugyeom's parents' place. I throw my head back and make a mental note to check online about what's going on once I settle back home.
Once we arrive I ask for the driver to wait and I go pick Miguel up. I thank Yugyeom's parents repeatedly and promise to return the favor. I quickly make my way back to the taxi and situate Miguel in the seat next to me. I tell the driver my address and turn to look at my boy.
"How have you been?" I ask as I look at him adoringly and brush through his hair.
"I had so much fun! Imo and samchon always fed me and brought me to school. They even helped me get a haircut and let me go to the playground!" He replies excitedly. I smile and make another mental note to pay them back for everything and maybe cook some food as a thank you. He begins to tell me about his days at school. Despite video chatting every so often he had a lot to say. I was only gone for two weeks, but I feel like I've missed on too much. When we arrive I pay the driver and give a generous tip.
Ever since the company received a lot of sponsorships and collaborations I was given a generous raise and JYP has also given me the chance for royalties for a few songs I had helped write. The new year had began in good terms and I can only hope it will only go up. Miguel helps carry the lighter bag such as his backpack and I carried his other bag and my own. I dump our bags of dirty laundry on the floor and drag my feet towards the kitchen for some water. I need to buy groceries.
I have Miguel wash up before planning to do so myself. I had promised him to go out for ice cream and spend the rest of the day with him. As I sit back on the couch I decide to send Mark a quick text.
'Hey, I'm back and going to spend the day out with Miguel.'
Miguel finishes soon after and I leave my phone at the coffee table. I leave him and grab my things to shower and freshen up. I dress in black skinny jeans with a distressed hem with a peach boxy cropped long sleeve that just reaches the top of my jeans. I brush out my hair and tie it into a bun to skip out on drying it. I slip on my white long padded coat.
"Yeah. Uhuh. I don't know we are just going to go out..." As I was leaving my room I began to hear Miguel speaking. My brows furrow and I grab my bag and head out to see what was going on. As my head peaks out I find Miguel sitting back on the couch with his legs crossed as he picks at his shirt. A habit he has picked up from me. "Momma seemed to be in a good mood. We didn't talk about that. I can ask her. I think she's done showering."
My brows raise at the level of conversation he has been having. It's either I just haven't noticed or in these past two weeks he has matured greatly. He glances up and noticed me leaning against the wall. He is surprised and smiles.
"Momma's here. Do you want to talk to her?" He asks into the phone as he looks at me. I give him a confused look and walk over. I plop onto the space beside him and lean onto the back of the couch with my arm. He listens carefully to whoever he was talking to. "Okay. Okay. Alright. Bye, Uncle Mark."
