"Momma! Momma!" Miguel screamed. I groggily woke up yawning as I began to sit up. I ran a hand through my flat hair trudging over to the Miguel's room. I pulled him out of bed before heading towards the door.
*Knock Knock Knock*
"Coming!" I called out after hearing the frantic knocks. I woke up a bit more and jogged over and opened the door to see cheerful faces surrounding bags that smelled like food. I had my eyes half closed as I looked at them. I sniffed still staring at them as they continued smiling.
Miguel came behind me and hugged my leg and I patted his head.
"Miggy!" Jen cooed and handed the bag she held to Cassidy and picked him up and threw him up and swung him around inside. I yawned again and moved aside letting the rest in.
"Morning," they said as they passed by. I just responded with overly exaggerated nods. When the last person came in I slammed the door shut and walked over to the couch lying down on top of Brian, Lara and Aaron's laps.
"Mmmm. Why are you guys here?" I groaned.
"It's 11:00am already, Christine," Jen said before talking to Miguel in a baby voice. I don't know why she does, I never do.
"I didn't ask what time it is, I'm asking why you guys are here," I sassed.
"You're so different when you wake up," Brian tells me caressing my forehead and hair. It felt nice.
"No just when my sleep is disturbed and I don't wake up naturally," I denied.
"Sorry, but Jen said we had to all be here when she tells you something," Brian tells me running his hands through my hair. I sigh in satisfaction.
"Why'd you all have to come?" I ask dreamily. I love it when people play with my hair.
"Miguel, why don't you play with Aunty Cassidy," I hear Jen say. I looked over and she looked at me once Miguel went to Cassidy. "Can you sit up, please?"
"Sure. What's up? You're kind of scaring me on what you're about to tell me," I tell her sitting on Brian's lap.
I'm the closest with Brian and Jen. I am friends with the others but I'm just more comfortable around them and have known them longer.
"So, you know how the competition is being sponsored by your radio show?" I nodded. "Well, see- hm- okay... There will be important people in the audience from many entertainment companies and industries. They will be there for scouting and sponsoring and one of them is from Korea and is one of the largest entertainment companies in Korea."
"Okay, so?" I couldn't see any connections. My mind was blank.
"Christine! Focus!" She yelled.
"I'm sorry! I'm trying! I'm trying. Hold on," I rub my eyes and slap my face. My eyes can now fully open and look at her. "Okay, shoot. Tell it to me again."
"Okay, one of the people watching us during the competion is from Korea. One of the largest and best entertainment companies there. Your radio show and company has personally asked him to come because one of his rookie idols has just guested at your show. Can you make the connections now?" She spoke slow and clear and now looked at me hoping I can finally make the connections. I have. But I don't know what to do. I mean what can I do?
"Great," I said flatly with a bitter smile. She sighed seeing I realized the situation. "There's not much I can do. Plus, he's a different person. I have nothing against..." What was his name?
"JinYoung Park," Jen filled in. I gave a curt nod. Brian's hands went to my shoulders and gave it a slight massage.
"Right, him. And what are the chances. Like you said earlier, there will be many other companies and industries out there from all over the US and Asia. He's sending just one person. And if that person does approach us then so what?" I say shrugging my shoulders while giving a side smile.
