I slapped him. I was shocked myself. He looked back at me as his hand went up to his cheek.

"Christine?" He whispers. I felt tears in my eyes as I felt frustrated and hurt. Because of what he said and because I slapped him.

"You can't just say that, Mark! You can't just say you're willing to drop everything for me. How is that suppose to make me feel? Happy? Touched? Mark! I'm not going to be a reason for you to let go of a dream. I'm not going to let you do any of that. I'd rather we never met again than to have you do that!" I stand up and walk away. I hear him stand up and stand behind me.

"Chris!" He was angry this time.

"Doesn't feel great does it!?" I ask rhetorically. I turn and face him angrily. "If you drop everything, I'm going to make sure we go back to before we met again."

"Are you threatening me?" He asks shocked by my words.

"Yes, yes I am." I answer confidently.

"Why?" He asks confused.

"Because this is the only way to get your head on straight!" I tell him frustrated. "You don't realize how ridiculous you're acting. You'd leave your life for some girl?"

"You aren't some girl, Chris," he states in a low tone and steps towards me. "You know you aren't like anyone else in my life. You know how you are on a different scale compared to everyone else."

"I do," I admit. "But since I know and I am, I can say all of this. I can say how ridiculous you're being and I can see everything. I can see through you, Mark. Even if we turn the other way. Even if we ignore it every time."

I tighten my lips as I stare up at him. His eyes are shaking, filled with emotion. He stares back and I'm sure he'll find the same result. He takes another step forward, but I step back. He glances down at our feet and looks back up. He takes another step. Except this time, it was a large step that would bring him right in front of me. As he approaches I turn to my right and avoid him.

"Look at me," he whispers. His breath hits my ear and neck and I cringe away. I don't dare look at him.

"I meant what I said," I tell him as I continue to look away from him.

"Can't you still be next to me even if I'm living this life? Can't we finally drop the act? Although I'm a little annoyed you brought it up first, I'm not going to hold back anymore. Since we both know. Since we can both feel the tension between us," he speaks softly. His hands wrapped around my core and I froze. His torso is pressed against my arm and his hands lay flat around my side.

"Move," I muster.

"You sure?" He asks me.

"Move," I repeat.

"Okay.." He sings. He moves, but instead of moving away like I'd hope. He moves in front of me as he keeps his hold on me. His hands are now on my lower back. His stomach and pelvis is pressed against my own. I stare at his chest and I don't look up.

"Mark," I warn. I raise my hands slowly with the intention to push him away. Seeing me raise my hands hesitantly he tightens his hold making me halt my movement and I feel his muscles contract. I try to control my breathing and remember what is right. I continue to raise my hands and lay them on his chest in front of me.
