Chapter 60

"And we're back! This is CT here for your latest news. We just listened to BTS's Blood Sweat and Tears. I see a big future ahead for them. All of you Army's listening hwaiting!" I hold a fist up encouragingly as I speak into the mic. I read the monitor and smile at the comments. "As many of you who are aware today's the day that we have a second round debuters releasing their mini album! Can any of you guess who I am talking about? They were beasts and now they've come to the light. They just bring attention with words. Anything come into mind? Yes, that's right! It's Highlight! With former Beast members, Yoon Doojoon, Yong Junhyung, Yang Yoseob, Lee Gikwang, and the solo maknae of the group, Son Dongwoon! Let's listen to their debut song, It's Still Beautiful, followed by their new release, Plz Don't Be Sad!"

The producer shuts off my mic and turns on the song. I remove my headset and thank him. I stretch out with a smile already feeling comfortable in the new studio.

"How's getting back to radio?" The producer asks.

"It's amazing! I haven't felt at ease until coming here. Korea hasn't felt like a place I could call home since I haven't had a stable job since!" I confess.

"Well, I'm glad you got this gig. The reaction is amazing. I think you've even got some of your old fans listening in," he says.

"Really? I thought they'd all be in the states," I ask surprised to find some here in Korea.

"They probably are ones that stream it online. A lot of the comments are saying how they miss CT," he explains.

"Daebak!" I smile. I take gulp of my water and check my phone. My social media notifications have been going crazy since I've started. Since finding out that I got this job I started being active on my account again hinting my return. I respond to some messages and make my own posts.

Since I came back I also had to change my username. AsianInvasion is still a show under the other studio, so finding this username was pure luck. My show now is called Hit the Beat. I had joked that it had similar connotations towards the show Hit the Stage, but I later found out that they are indeed sharing writers.

"You know guys, I'm really proud of Highlight and everything they are doing after all of the things that happen to them. The next group I can't wait for a major comeback is Super Junior. After so many years a majority will finally be discharged from the military!" I say into the mic. I take calls and play more songs. Before I knew it hours have past and it was time for me to go. "Time went by too fast. It's already time. So here is my goodbye! See you next time! Here is an hour of nonstop music, enjoy!"

The PD switches the mic off and puts in the music before giving me a thumbs up.

"Perfect! Thank you everyone! See you tomorrow," I bow and greet everyone before gathering my things and heading out. It's almost lunch time and I hail a taxi before heading to the restaurant.

"CHRISTINE!" I hear my name called out loudly gaining the attention of many. I bow and apologize before looking at the culprit in a scolding way. "I'm sorry. I'm just so happy to see you!"

"I am too, Jen. It has been way too long," I say as I hug her and take the seat across from her. We call a waiter and order our food. "So, how have you been?"

"Stressful. I'm sure you've already heard what has happened to everyone," She sighs running a hand through her now silver-blue hair. Her face that was once holding excitement dropped into an expression of loss and exhaustion.
