Harry's P.O.V.
Her simple green eyes gazed into mine as if mimicking them. I made my way up the onyx colored driveway breaking the awkward stare.
I made a last minute decision to enter the house through the side entrance.
I padded across the fresh, new white living room carpet and towards the door way. My mum was still chit chatting with the neighbors as Gemma pulled me aside.
"She seems nice, no?" Gemma giggled as I stared at her in confusion.
"Uh sure," I was hesitant. I hadn't talked to her in the slightest bit.
Gemma rolled her eyes as she snickered to herself.
"What a loser..." I remarked jokingly. That's when all chaos broke out.
Summer's P.O.V.
Anne kept talking with me for a good 10 minutes. An occasional giggle surpassed my lips from a tiny joke she would tell. Mia eventually joined the conversation, adding in her ten cents here and there.
"My mom doesn't cook that bad!" Mia snorted wildly as she continued to joke about my mom's cooking skills. "Although her cooking isn't five star either." At that point Anne and Mia were crying from there uncontrollable laughter.
"You girls are something else," Anne joked lightly. I nodded my head in agreement.
"Oh I've been told that multiple times!" Mia said with a straight face. You could tell she was serious.
"Please stay for dinner! I insist!" Anne pleaded with a genuine smile. "And bring your family too!"
"I would lo-" a loud thud sounded from what looked like the living room. Anne motioned us into the house to see what all the commotion was.
I leaned over the piles of boxes and Gemma on top of Harry came into view.
Mia and I exchanged glances as I bit down on my lip trying to hold in my laughter.
Harry's P.O.V.
Strings of laughter began as Gemma toppled over me. I peered out of the corner of my eye to see my mum and two girls staring down at us with wide eyes.
We both stood up at the same time, brushing any dust off our clothing.
I stuck out my hand to the blonde girl. "Harry," I grinned. She took my large hand into her petite one.
"Summer like the season," she gave a small smile.
"Can I call you Sum?" I asked hesitant.
She giggled slightly. "Sure."
"Ahem," the brunette coughed voluntarily. After she caught my attention she smirked, "Mia."
I nodded my head in response.
"I should call my mom," Summer broke the some what silence. My mum was totally confused as she squinted her eyes and crossed her eyebrows. "Umm dinner?" She finally remembered as if a rock with a note hit her in the head.
"Right!"
Mia and Summer walked into the kitchen to use the telephone. Sum held the black phone to her ear. Her dirty blonde hair fell freely from her head coordinating with her olive green eyes. Her perfectly straight teeth smiled into the microphone as she nodded her head slightly. She hung up the phone after around five minutes and walked into the living area.
"They will be right over," she stated.
"Your mum and dad and..." Gemma suddenly stopped for Summer to finish.
"My mom and my sister.." Summer trailed off at the end her head hanging low. "My dad he umm...took off after Caroline was born." She let out a much needed sigh.
Gemma's mouth formed an 'o'.
"My parents got divorced," I mumbled to myself.
I looked over at my mum. Her facial expression consisted of wide eyes and raised eye brows.
"Harry Edward St-"
"Oops," I cut her off. I took off for the stairs and headed to my room.
I slumped on my queen sized bed and rested my chin in my hands. I huffed out a long sigh as I heard a knock on the door.
"Hello?" a sweet voice rang throughout the bedroom.
"Come in."
Summer came into my vision as she gently pushed the squeaky door open. "You okay?" she asked ever so gently.
"Yeah. I just miss him," a tear slipped out of the corner of my eye.
Summer sat beside me on the bed and wrapped her long arms around my shoulders. "I know," she whispered into my ear. "Me too."
"Kids dinner!" my mum called from the kitchen.
"Sum," I suddenly froze. "Go on a date with me." It came out more of a demand but I got my response quickly.
"Sure," she smiled. I exhaled and gently slid my fingers through hers as I guided us down the stairs. Maybe happy endings do come true.
