Chapter 4- Secrets

Joey's POV

I needed to tell him.

Shane: Actually, Joey, could you help me get my stuff over to mom's? I really just want to get out of here and away from that bitch.

Wow. Does that mean Shane is gay?! That would be great!

Joey: Uh, sure! Of course!

Shane's POV

Wow. Joey is so nice. And he seemed much happier.

Shane: Thanks.

We walked into the apartment and saw Lisa passed out on the couch. Joey walked straight past her and started grabbing boxes. I stared at her for a couple seconds... Or minutes.

Joey: Shane? Hello. Are you helping me?

I jumped. Why was I staring? I guess I felt bad.

Shane: Sorry.

I started picking up boxes and carrying them to my car. Within a few minutes we were done.

Shane: Thanks Joey. Do you wanna hang out tomorrow?

Joey: Sure! What time?

Shane: Anytime.

Joey: What if you're sleeping?

Shane: Then walk into my room, grab and shake me while screaming; WAKE UP!!!!!

He started laughing. Man, I love his laugh.

Joey: Ok I'm gonna go now. I'll see you tomorrow!

Shane: Alright, bye.

Joey: Bye.

I hugged him and he got in his car and left.

Lisa: Hey the asshole left already! Why did you ask him out Shane?!

Oh f*ck! She's back!

Shane: What do you mean?

She walked over and pushed me against my car.

Lisa: Forget about Joey! Let's have some fun!

She leaned in and kissed me again. What the f*ck was she doing?! I pushed her off but she came back.

Lisa: Come on Shane!

This time I shoved her away.

Lisa: What the hell!

I hopped into my car and locked the doors. Lisa tried to open the door but it didn't budge.

Lisa: Open the door!

I started the car and began to drive away. I looked back and saw a pissed Lisa staring at me.

Joey's POV

I got home and crashed on my bed. Today was awesome! And tomorrow I'll see Shane again! This can't be better. But I had an urge to talk about it. Who could I trust?

(Ringing)

Luke: Hello?

Joey: Hey Luke!

Luke: Oh hey Joey! What's up?

Joey: Um, can I come over? I need to talk to you about something.

Luke: Of course. I'll see you soon.

Joey: Alright bye.

I hope I can trust Luke. But he is my best friend so I should trust him. Well off I go!

Shane's POV

I finally got home and explained to my mom what happened.

Mom: I'm so sorry sweetie.

Shane: Well there's something else I need to tell you.

Mom: What?

Shane: Mom, I'm gay and I like Joey.

Mom: Oh!

Shane: Are you ok with it?

Mom: Of course sweetie. I will always love you.

She hugged me.

Shane: Thanks mom but don't tell anyone.

Mom: Ok, I promise. Does Joey know?

Shane: No, not yet.

Mom: Well I hope you tell him soon. And find your own place.

Shane: Yeah, soon. I hope.

I went upstairs to my old room. I looked the same. Just like I left it. I flopped onto the bed and fell asleep immediately.

Joey's POV

(Knock knock)

The door opens.

Luke: Hey man.

Joey: Hey.

I stepped in and Luke shut the door. We both walked over and sat down on the couch.

Luke: So what did you need to talk about?

Joey: Can I trust you?

It was a stupid question. Of course I can trust him.

Luke: Of course.

Joey: Well, this is a secret so don't tell anyone!

Luke: I promise.

Joey: Ok so, I think I might be gay.

Luke: Wow! Really?

Joey: Yeah and I like Shane.

Luke: Oh! I see. Shoey is a thing now.

Joey: No. Not yet.

I frowned. I wished it was real. I'd be so happy!

Luke: Don't worry. I'm always here for you.

Joey: Thanks Luke.

Having someone to talk to made me feel a lot better. Hopefully I'd be with Shane and I wouldn't need to talk about it.

Luke: So when are you telling him?

Joey: I don't know. I'm afraid to tell him. What if he doesn't like me back?

Luke: You should just go for it dude. And if he doesn't like you, I'll be here to comfort you. But Shane's cool. He'll still be friend with you no matter what.

Joey: Ok. Thanks. We are hanging out tomorrow so maybe I could tell him then.

Luke: Yeah. I hope it works out.

Joey: Alright, I'm gonna go now.

Luke: Alright text me.

Joey: I will.

I hugged him then left. Tomorrow. I can't wait!
