Chapter 73- Freak Out

Joey's POV

I bolt up in my bed. I look around.

Oh thank god that was a dream!

Or nightmare by my standards!

But I'm still alone. I miss my Shaney. I get up and walk into the living room. I see something on the floor. I bend over and pick it up.

Oh my god! It's my ring. I look at my finger. It's not on it!

What the hell happened?!

I quickly call Shane. He doesn't pick up so I text him.

Joey: Shane! Please come home! Something happened and I really need you!

I put my phone down then start to freak.

What if that did happen?

What if I kicked him out?

What if he broke up with me?

My head starts spinning and I start hyperventilating. I trip and fall down. then I blackout.

*Sometime later*

X: Joey! Get up!

I open my eyes quickly and see a concerned Shane above me. I reach up and hug him tightly.

Shane: What's going on? What's wrong?

Joey: I had another nightmare.

Shane: Tell me about it.

He pulls back and sits down inviting me to crawl into his lap. Which I do happily. I lean back against his chest and tell him every single detail.

Joey: And the weirdest thing was my ring was on the floor out here just like in the dream.

Shane: Well I can explain that.

Joey: Really?

Shane: Yeah. So last night you feel asleep on the couch. I went to bed then I started to hear you shouting and throwing stuff in your sleep. I guess the ring flew off during that. Then I placed you in the bed before I left.

Joey: Oh thank god everything's fine between us!

Shane: It isn't.

Joey: What?!

I fly off his lap and face him scared. He sighs and takes my hand.

Shane: Can't you see the big problem here?

Joey: Uh...

I kinda knew what he was talking about but I was afraid of it.

Shane: Joey!

Joey: What?

Shane: Don't what me!

Joey: Seriously Shane. I'm confused.

Shane: Really Joey? I think you're just trying to avoid it!

Joey: Ok fine!

I look down at my lap and start to cry. Shane takes my hands and holds them. I look up at him. He looks at me with prying eyes.

Joey: I really do love you!

Shane: I know. But are you losing interest in me?

My body drains of all emotions.

Am I?

Was that dream like the last?

The future.

Joey: Shane...

I start to shake. Shane pulls me into his arms. I can't help it. I left myself fall asleep.

Into a pit of darkness and depression.

Shane's POV

Something's up with Joey.

I mean a person doesn't just pass out after freaking out.

I'm worried. He must've realized something from his dream. He was afraid to tell me. I was afraid to hear it.

Shane: I love you Joey-bear. I hope you have sweet dreams tonight.

I kiss his forehead and lay him done in our bed. I don't climb in with him though.

I pace around the room thinking. Eventually I get a headache and slip into bed next to Joey.

I give him another kiss on his forehead then wrap my arms around his waist pulling him closer to me.

Shane: I still love you Joey-bear.

And with that I fall asleep praying for no more nightmares.
