Chapter 39- Talk

Shane's POV

I wake up and Joey's still asleep. Weird. I check the time. It's 12:17. He should be up by now. I shrug and get up. I take a shower and do my hair. I put on some clothes and walk into the kitchen. I take me medicine and I'm greeted by Shoey.

Shane: Aww. Come here Shoey!

She barks and hops around. I shush her.

Shane: You'll wake Joey up!

Joey: He's up.

I look up and see Joey in his pj's with messy hair. I smile. He's so cute. He walks up to me and gives me a hug. He kisses my cheek and yawns.

Shane: You slept later than me and you're still tired?

Joey: I got a phone call from my sister, Nicole, this morning. Really early.

Shane: Oh.

His sister. Why would she call him? Did something bad happen?

Shane: Why did she call?

Joey: We need to talk.

He grab my hand and leads me to the couch. I'm nervous. Did something had happened? What's going on? My head starts to spin.

Joey: Nicole, she saw our coming out video.

Oh. That's not bad. Why was I worried?

Shane: Ok so?

Joey: She says she supports and love me.

Shane: That's great!

I really was worried for nothing!

Joey: But my parents don't know.

Shane: So? Let's tell them!

Joey: Shane. It's not easy. My dad he-

He looks down. I guess this was the part I should be afraid of.

Joey: He doesn't like gay people. He thinks they're gross. So I'm afraid he will think I'm gross and he'll hate me. And I wouldn't want him to cause you either.

This is definitely what I was afraid of. Would his dad hurt me? Would his dad shun Joey? I gulped. This is tough.
