Chapter 56- More Embarrassment

Joey's POV

Joey: Bye mom! I love you!

Mom: Bye Joey and Shane! Have fun!

I blush. She knows what happened but Nicole didn't.

Nicole: Let's go! Dad wants to see you guys before you leave!

We get in the car with our bags. Shane and I sit in the back seat.

Joey: Shane?

Shane: Ye-

I grab his neck and slam my lips on his. We start making out until we're interrupted.

Nicole: Don't start something.

Joey: Nicole! We we're kissing!

Nicole: You we're doing more than that. Just don't do it in my car.

I grab Shane's face and kiss him again. I wanted to really wanted to do something to really freak out Nicole but Shane pulled away.

Nicole: Thank you Shane!

We got to my dad's and I rushed inside. I haven't seen him since we went out to dinner before Shane proposed.

Dad: Joey! Come in!

I gave him a big hug. Then I showed him the ring.

Joey: I said yes!

Dad: Congrats! Where's Shane?

Joey: Whoops. In the car. I always forget him when I'm excited.

I run back out and drag him in. I give him a big kiss and a hug.

Shane: What's got you so happy?

Joey: You!

We sat down on the couch with my dad. We just talked for a but about random things.

Dad: So I have a serious question for both of you.

Joey: What is it?

Dad: Have you two had sex?

Joey: Uh...

I go red and look at Shane. He's looking down at feet. Does he regret it? He said he didn't. I feel guilty.

Dad: So?

Joey: Yes. We had sex. And mom knows too.

My dad is silent but I look at Shane. He still won't make eye contact. I take his hand.

Joey: Shane?

Shane: I'll be right back.

He runs off to the bathroom. I sigh a and turn back to my dad.

Dad: When does your flight leave?

Joey: We have to leave in 15 minutes.

Dad: Go check on him.

Joey: Kay. Be right back.

I walked to the bathroom. I knocked on the door.

Joey: Shane? Are you ok?

I opened the door when I didn't get an answer. He was sitting on the floor with his face in his hands. I sit next to him and wrap my arm around his waist.

Joey: Talk to me Shaney.

Shane: No. I just wanna stop talking about it.

Joey: I'm sorry.

I rub his back. I feel bad that the subject keeps coming up. I sigh and rest my head on him.

Shane: Get off.

Joey: What's wrong? Do you regret it?

Shane: I-

He starts crying for real. Did I force him to do it before he was ready? Did I make him sad? Oh no! I made my Shaney cry!

Joey: No! Shaney don't cry! I'm so sorry!

Shane: No. I'm fine. We should get going.

We stand up. I wipe away his tears and he smiled at me. I give him a quick kiss and take his hand. I guide back out to my dad.

Dad: I'm gonna miss you Joey.

Joey: Me too.

Dad: Have fun planning the wedding.

Joey: Thanks dad. Bye!

We walk to the door. He stops Shane before we leave.

Dad: Take good care of my son.

Shane: I will.

We get in the car and Nicole drives us to the airport. The whole time I feel like a big jerk. But I can't say anything because Nicole's here. It was just so embarrassing. Oh well. we hop out I the car and grab our luggage.

Nicole: Bye Joey! I'm gonna miss you.

She gives me a big then turns to Shane.

Nicole: You too Shane.

She gives him a hug. We waved bye to her and board the plane. We sit alone again. No one's around. I hop into Shane's lap.

Joey: Are you gonna be ok?

Shane: Yeah. Sure.

Joey: No! I hurt you!

Shane: I'm-

Joey: You we're crying! I made you cry!

Shane: I'm better now. Let's talk about this back home ok?

I nod. I lean in and give him a kiss. Then I sit back in my seat. I lean against his arm and fall asleep.
