(Whytnie’s POV)

You know that feeling when everything in your life starts falling into place? The giddy feeling you get when your crush smiles at you or acknowledges your existence? Or your favorite celebrity noticing one of your many tweets? When you get a new follower on Instagram (non-creeper like)? When you get a good picture of beautiful scenery or your phone’s camera hides your flaws for once? When you see loved ones after a long time after not talking to each other? When you arrive to class prepared for a test and your teacher forgets there’s a test? Or those rare moments when you realize your family is pretty funny but won’t ever have the guts to admit it aloud? Or when you look into the mirror one morning and realize you actually like what you see (but a few seconds later, you realized you’re only fooling yourself)? How about that feeling you get when you’ve been saving up for something for a while and they actually have it at the store for you to buy? When you ace a test? When you get the classes you want? When payday comes along? When you get that text you’ve been waiting for (and it says something more than just “k”)?

Well, the list could go on, but you get the picture.

I don’t know how to describe it, this happiness I feel, but it’s a combination of all those and more. None of it makes sense to me, not that my life has ever made sense to me before and it’d be a miracle if it finally started to now. But right now, in this very moment, I know I’m where I need to be. I’m where I belong. I’m with who I belong with. He’s right by my side, smiling down at me like I’m the best thing that’s ever happened to him. I’m probably smiling back like a foolish giddy idiot. I don’t care. He doesn’t care. He sees past my flaws and loves me for me. Sure, there’s some things he’d like to change about me (like my constant need to fight, for whatever reason) but I know he wouldn’t change me for the world. His smile says it all. And I know that that’s a lot to assume by just one facial expression. You obviously don’t see what I see. The determination, the love, the knowingness, the longing, the wonder, the amazement, the happiness, the morale, and the passion are all shown through his eyes.

And he squeezes my hand to reassure me. I’m at peace with the world, no longer needing or wanting for more, except for what’s to come in the future. I’m ready to face it all with him by my side. And I’m happy. The disease doesn’t make me hurt, I feel almost untouchable. Like I’m Superman and will always triumph in the end. With my partner in crime beside me, I’m ready to take on any enemy that comes at us. I’m ready to face my illness from a different point of view. I’m ready to live my life the way it should be lived, for however long I may have. I’m ready to face it all with him by my side. Invincible. Unbeatable. Unconquerable.

I’m no longer scared. So let the future come. I’m finally prepared.

(Harry’s POV)

Her eyes: brown. There’s so much emotion in there when she looks up at me. Her fingers tangle with mine as I look down at her. Her father’s giving a speech in the background, but the words are meaningless to me. All that matters is the girl beside me. I squeeze her hand as I stare into her eyes and get lost. She’s my future. She’s my everything. The look in her eyes says the feelings mutual. She’s ready. I’m ready. So what are we still doing here?

Oh, right. Rehearsal dinner. Her father’s speech.

But do those things really matter?

Whytnie’s contemplating the same thing right now; the look in her eyes makes it obvious. We’re on the same page. We’re in synch. We’re one in the same. We fit. We’re one. We belong together. I know. She knows. Everyone in this room knows.
