Log_Lady: A while back we got this dare here from KitWells! "I dare Erik to watch Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat if he hasn't already and film his reaction to every song. ANDREW LLOYD WEBBER ALL THE WAYYYYYY"

Erik: I am very pleased to finally be able to complete it!

Log_Lady: Recently we went to see this musical at the high school I used to go to (before homeschooling happened). It was so weird being back there..... And even after a few years of going there I got lost on the way to the bathroom..... But back to the dare!

Erik: As it would have been very bad theatre etiquette, my reaction was not filmed or recorded at all during the show. But I would love to share my thoughts on it now! To start: the cast of characters that are Joseph's brothers were very entertaining. The many different genres of songs that they sung were marvelous! I was a bit unsure how I felt about it at first, but the French song won me over.
Also, I think that the idea of having a narrator to a musical is a very good one. Not just an ensemble of background characters that miraculously know what's going on, but one (or in this case three) solid narrator(s). It was very well done.
As for Joseph himself, I thought that his songs were very nice. In this particular performance, Joseph's diction could have been better, but that does not reflect on my thoughts of the musical, just those of this particular singer. Close Every Door I thought to be especially enchanting. The tune was beautiful, as was the message.
I also believe that Pharaoh is deserving of a review. I would just like to note that Log_Lady wouldn't shut up about him for hours after we got home. He was really cool.
The story as a whole was also good. As you may know, the musical was based off of a happening in the Bible. It was an adaptation faithful to the real events as we know them, conveying the proper message, yet managing to keep it fun and peppy at the same time.
I do hope this is sufficient commentary to complete the dare!

Log_Lady: I do believe so. Thanks for reading and see you all next session!

Erik: Goodbye!
