Sadie's POV

The only thing that cheered me up was Carter. He emerged from his room dressed like a junior professor, in a coat and tie, button-down shirt, and trousers. Poor boy--of course he's never been to a dance any more that he'd been to school. He had no clue whatsoever.

"You look . . . Wonderful." I tried to keep a straight face. "You do realize it's not a funeral?"
