"Hello?"
"Daniel? What the hell are you doing answering the phone at three am, British time?"
"You rang, I picked up."
"I though it would go to voicemail. If I'd known that you were going to pick up, I wouldn't have called. It's far too late in the night for you to be answering calls!"
"But you rang."
"Not the point. Like I said, I was going to leave a message."
"I saved you the trouble. What were you going to say, anyway?"
"Not a lot. I was just going to say that I had a good day at work, saw a lot of fabulous clothes, went to the Empire State, found that Italian restaurant you mentioned and that my flight home is tomorrow. Or rather, today. You know, Thursday."
"You're coming back today?"
"Yeah, although technically, it's still Wednesday here."
"That's good news."
"I thought you might like that."
"You thought right."
"You sound really sleepy, Daniel."
"Mhm."
"I'm going to leave you get some beauty sleep, otherwise you'll look like Shrek in the morning."
"Mhm."
"You're not listening to me, are you?"
"..."
"You fell asleep, didn't you?"
"..."
"You totally did. See this is why you should have let me leave you a message!"
"..."
"Admit it, I was ri- Why the hell am I still talking to you. You're bloody asleep!"
"..."
"Good night, Daniel. Sweet dreams, hon."
