"Hello?" Pt. 1

March 5th 2016

Ok, so a slightly different format this evening. Lots of voice mails (answer phone messages),  a couple of photo messages and then the conversation to round it off.

'Bonjour, c'est le répondeur de Sophie. Laissez un message!'  translates as, 'Hi, this is Sophie's voice mail. Leave a message!'

Other French phrases will be translated/explained within the update.

"You can sing? Charlotte's just informed me of this great karaoke bar in Paris. We. Are. Going. I need to hear you belt out 'Girls Just Wanna Have Fun.' Your sisters tell me that's your go-to song. We need to make this happen!"

"Haha! You looked really goofy as a kid! But at least you- what's the phrase all the kids use nowadays?- Longbottomed? At least give me props for a Harry Potter reference here!"

"So, répondeur means answer phone in French? Charlotte is teaching me some more basic French, although I think she's a little more colourful with her phrases than Duolingo. What does this phrase translate as? Putain!C'est quoi, ce bordel. Charlotte keeps sniggering whenever I ask and Emma's just shaking her head in disapproval but won't translate for me. Help!"
