"Dinner is probably cold, you know," Steve whispered, pressing a kiss into her temple.

"Please," she looked up at him, "I just need to swish my hand and it will be piping hot again."

"You know, I'm not really that hungry right now."

She burst out laughing as he grabbed her around the waist and pinned her beneath him once more. From the kitchen, they managed to make it to the bedroom and were currently wrapped up in his king sized dark green comforter, and she could honestly say there was nowhere else she would rather be.

Well, except for one place...

"What's on your mind?" Steve's voice came soft against her ear, followed by a teasing kiss.

"Would you like to see Asgard?"

"Would I have to meet your parents?"

She gave him a look. "Steve."

"I'm kidding, honey." He rose onto his forearms, his hands curving against her face. "Of course I'd like to see Asgard. I want to know what you were like as a little kid."

"Just ask me."

The devil flashed in his eyes. "I want to hear it from your brothers."

"Well, Nicky is younger than me, remember. I was almost three when he and Kyra were born so they won't remember anything. But Selig would probably tell you I was a pain. I followed him everywhere and bugged him nonstop.

"But at the same time, he was my best friend." She smiled up at Steve. "He would tell me stories when I got homesick for Midgard. He used to tell me that when the sun set, it actually sank into the Asgard Sea and if I was quiet enough, I would hear it sizzle."

"So you listened for the sizzle, didn't you?"

"I was, like, four or five at the time, so yes. I did." She laughed softly, then her tone grew wistful. "I always wanted to come back here, I missed it so much. Selig had friends in both realms, and I only had him. I've never fit in very well in either realm."

"I find that hard to believe."

"Why? I was a freak here and I was Loki's daughter there. When we were kids, people always loved having Selig around because of his magic. He complained about it, but it was better than when he was real young and everyone called him Spooky Selig. Only Celia didn't use him for it. She's always loved him, you know."

"Did they call you names?"

She shook her head. "No, but only because I didn't let anyone know I'd inherited my father's gift." She held out her hand, wiggled her fingers, and a handful of pink and silver butterflies rose into the air. One by one, they turned into bubbles of bright turquoise, and then popped and disappeared.

"That's amazing," he said softly, catching that hand by the wrist to press a kiss into her palm. "What else can you do, Ash?"

"I already told you that." She hesitated. What would he do if she did suddenly morph into a bunny? No. She still wasn't ready to tell him that.

"Do you use your magic for other things?"

"Like what?"

His smile grew sinful. "Like when we're in bed?"

"You mean, to make the sex better?" She shook her head. "I can, but I haven't. Why?"

"It is because you're nuts, then."

He said it with a grin, but she still rolled her eyes. "What?"

"Jake has a philosophy that the crazier a girl is, the better sex with her is."
