**Neveah's POV:**
August needs my help, so I take a quick shower and put on my outfit. As I head over to August's house, I see someone I never expected to see. It's my first boyfriend, Kenon.
"KENON! Get off of him!" I shout, rushing towards them.
Kenon looks up at me with a sneer. "Look at poor Neveah, standing up for her boyfriend."
"If you hurt him, I'm calling the cops," I threaten, trying to keep my voice steady despite the fear and anger boiling inside me.
"You're right," Kenon says, a malicious grin spreading across his face. "Why would I hurt him when you're an easy target?"
"Kenon, why are you doing this?" I ask, tears beginning to run down my face.
"Because, Neveah, I loved you. You kept letting random guys into your life and giving them second chances, but you left me like I was nothing," he says, his voice filled with a mix of anger and pain.
"Kenon, you wanted things I couldn't provide. I was 15 when you asked me to run away from my foster house to start a family with you. I couldn't do that. But if you take August from me, his soon-to-be daughter, me, his family—we won't know what to do," I plead, hoping to reach the part of him that once loved me.
I always knew how Kenon got when I mentioned children, so I brought that up. But I'm not giving him another chance.
"Wait, you got pregnant with that Jake dude. It was you that got pregnant at 16, a year after we broke up," he snarls, his face contorting with rage.
And then, all I see is Kenon running up to me with full force. He attacks me, and I hear August screaming. I try to fight back, but Kenon's strength is overwhelming.
"Neveah, I asked you a question. Was that you?" he yells, hitting me.
"Yes, it was. I'm sorry—" I begin, but I am cut off by a commanding voice.
"Put your hands up!" the voice orders.
"MOM?!?" I exclaim, seeing my mother standing there with backup.
My mom had backup, and they quickly subdue Kenon. I get dressed, and then my mom unties August.
"Mom, I thought you died," I say, my voice breaking with a mixture of relief and confusion.
"I didn't die. I was in a coma. Matia only said that because you took August from her," she explains, her voice calm but firm.
August, looking remorseful, says, "I'm sorry I put you both through this. Tell me how much it cost, I—"
I had to. I kissed his soft lips, feeling a rush of emotions.
"You're the only guy that won't give up. I grew into a stronger woman being with you. Yes, you may have made mistakes, but August Garcia, I love you," I say, looking into his eyes.
"I love you too, Neveah Knowles," he replies, holding me close.

**One Week Later**
Life had taken a surreal turn after that fateful night. My mom, Beyonce, was back from what we all thought was certain death. Kenon was behind bars, and Matia had vanished from our lives, hopefully for good. But the scars, both physical and emotional, were still fresh.
Faith had been staying with Kayla, and I knew it was time to bring her home. She needed to understand what had happened and why August was still a part of our lives.

**At Kayla's House**
"Hey, Neveah. How are you holding up?" Kayla asks, her voice full of concern.
"It's been tough, Kayla. But thank you for taking care of Faith," I reply, grateful for her support.
"Of course. She's been asking about you every day," Kayla says with a smile.
"I know. It's time to take her home and explain everything," I say, feeling a mix of anxiety and relief.
Kayla nods, understanding the gravity of the situation. I walk into the living room where Faith is playing with Ki'andra.
"Mommy!" Faith exclaims, running into my arms. I hold her tight, feeling her warmth.
"Hey, baby. It's time to go home," I say, kissing her forehead.

**At Home**
Back at home, Faith sits on the couch, her eyes wide with curiosity and concern. I sit beside her, taking a deep breath.
"Faith, there's something I need to tell you," I begin, my heart pounding.
"Is it about Daddy?" she asks, her voice small and tentative.
"Yes, it is. But it's also about your Grandma and someone from my past," I say, trying to find the right words.
I explain everything to her—the attack, how Grandma saved us, and why Kenon, my ex-boyfriend, was so angry. I tell her about the mistakes I made and how August has stood by me despite everything.
"Daddy loves you very much, Faith. And he loves me too. We're a family, and we're going to be okay," I assure her, holding her close.
Faith nods, her small arms wrapping around me. "I love you, Mommy."
"I love you too, baby girl," I whisper, feeling the weight of the past week lift just a little.

**Later That Night**
As I lay in bed, August beside me, I think about how much has changed. The pain and fear are still there, but so is the love and strength we've found in each other.
"Thank you for being here," I say softly, turning to face August.
"I wouldn't be anywhere else," he replies, his eyes full of warmth and sincerity.
We hold each other, the events of the past week slowly fading into the background. Together, we face whatever comes next, knowing that our love is strong enough to overcome anything.
